(Because I remember how waterlogged LFR got at the end, and how unique Ashes of Athas felt.

I had a 4e shifter ex-noble-family druid whose personal background music was "Werewolves of London". I want a 5e way to indicate the bloodline, without the full lycanthropy kit.
I want a down-powered vampire (maybe a vryloka but I don't iirc that name)

I found Volodni in 3e Unapproachable East and want to play one of those (the "pine folk"). The closest I can get right now is to fluff-edit a Wood Elf.
