One is a curve like a bowl with a line running down from the center (lowest point).

The other is a carefully drawn pawprint.*

*The drow steps up and as if to Answer the parchemtn takes out and begins to scroll on the parchment Wich coils into a Small ball after it touchs turning to ash and falls to the ground.... his eyes go wide and he mumbles "Oh @$%&" before hastaly exiting the tavern*

(His eyes narrow as he surveys the messages, then posts another over the scorch mark.)

The message has a dozen slashed red marks all close together and put over the top of two slanted S marks.

Pinned to the note is a scrap of scaled hide, dry but still supple and otherwise fresh.
