Ah. See, I wasn't talking about getting the computer gamers to buy &D books. I want a D&D version of the BG3 campaign.
There are a few things I'm already thinking about adding to my dnd campaigns. Walking around on beams in the broken down cathedral was such a cool environment. I want to introduce more interactable terrain features. And maybe a twist on the illithid powers?

I've only run into two bugs. The first was Shadowheart's inventory just disappearing after recruiting Astarion. The other, which has popped up three times now, when it's Lae'zel's turn in combat, the main UI will disappear and be replaced with the smaller UI in the bottom left corner of the screen as if you're in a conversation cut scene.

Not terrible things, but loading my last save fixes it. The rest of the game is damn amazing and I want to have versions of this game in other D&D settings.

It'll never happen, but I can dream!

It's an incredible game. I've got as far as lvl 7 now and I have had half a dozen issues with misplaced cutscenes and incorrect dialogs ("Erm, no, I didn't actually DO that...."). I'm reporting them all so hopefully they can tie up all those loose ends.

The game is just massive. I feel like I'm halfway through a full tabletop adventure path, not playing a CRPG.

I love how 'failures' nearly all fail forwards - you should just carry on and embrace the new direction of the story.

Like all CRPGs - or even more so - it suffers from magic item bloat. Like, everyone has 5 magic weapons apiece and the party about 30 scrolls that all classes can just use at will (I hate that!)

Overall tho, it is just an awe-inspiring achievement, like nothing else I've experienced previously. The closest parallel I can make was probably playing the first Halo on the Xbox or whatever it was back then. I mean not the style of game, but the feeling of the story and plot twists etc. That's 20+ years ago it would seem.

I broke and bought it for my naughty word PC. Which runs it at Medium apparently. Hair looks awful.

Anyways, yeah I dont like that the "make your own character" still has things forced on him. Like the Haunted One background and that you a prone to murderous urges. You can't in fact make your own character in this game. You have to have some sort of pre-established personality.

But oh well, looking to dive in later. May make a new character to better fit what path Larien wants me to walk though

That only applies to the Dark Urge, which despite being more customizable is still one of the "Origin" characters, a la the default companion characters.

Choose the Custom origin instead, and you can make your character as freeform as the system allows.
