I have a question concerning a BM using a net, having his pet attack, and then using the bonus action to fire a hand crossbow. I will quote the PHB so you don't have to look up each rule.

Beast Companion rules-
PHB
Beast Companion rules-
On your turn, you can verbally command the beast where to move (no action required by you). You can use your action to verbally command it to take the
Attack,
Dash,
Disengage, or
Help action. If you don't issue a command, the beast takes the
Dodge action. Once you have the Extra Attack feature, you can make one weapon attack yourself when you command the beast to take the
Attack action.
Net rules-
Net rules-
When you use an action, bonus action, or reaction to attack with a net, you can make only one attack regardless of the number of attacks you can normally make.
Crossbow Expert-
It's the "you can use your action to verbally command..." that makes me question if this is an attack action.
Crossbow Expert-
- You ignore the loading property of crossbows with which you are proficient.
- Being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn’t impose disadvantage on your ranged attack rolls.
- When you use the Attack action and attack with a one-handed weapon, you can use a bonus action to attack with a hand crossbow you are holding.
