Best starting armor for paladins

So, I'm making my first paladin in several years, and I'm trying to decide what armor is the best to get as starting gear. I rolled my starting gold as 210, I've already bought a scimitar, a shortbow and 30 arrows, making my current funds to be 163gp and 5 sp. I'm thinking of buying a light steel shield, as well as the paladin kit from Ultimate Equipment.

If this is in the wrong place, please let me know, but I didn't see any other places for this xd

Buy wichever armor gives the best AC, that fits within your budget.
You might take dex mods into account. If you have a Dex bonus, then buying a lesser set of armor might give you the same overall bonus but save you some GP.

According to PFSRD:

Chainmail is 150gp. +6ac/+2dex
Wooden Shield 3gp. +1ac
Leaves you 10 gp and 5 silver. Not much left for expenses (or the Ultimate Equipment Paladin Kit, I am unfamiliar with this gear.)

For a mere 53gp. you can go splint mail/wooden shield for +5ac/+1ac. Leaving 100gp for other equipment.

Is the extra +1 worth 100 gp?? Odds are you will be able to upgrade armor and shields with cast off equipment as you defeat your enemies...

OK, thank you very much for the above advice. I think I'll go with the latter, cheaper idea.
