BLEB1: Beer Run (stonegod - Designated Driver)

As the group heads towards the hovel, it is soon clear that it is a lost cause---no one alive remains. A better look reveals the boots to be the fallen form of a farmer face down in the doorway. He has some burns on his back. A glance about shows there must have been some disturbance---a fallen table, some spilt grain on the outside.

The inside of the hovel is mostly smoke at this point, though the flames are gone. More cannot be currently seen.

Rio looks about for any indication of who or what is responsible. Whatever it is, the group might be facing it at some point, and forewarned is forearmed.

Spells: lvl 0 4/5 - lvl 1 4/4

Kuther catchs up with the rest when he sees the rest of the group is not getting ambushed by anything. YET he thinks for himself. He glances back towards Fritz and yells at him 'keep an eye at the cart and us from up there' 'signal us if anythings happeds, ok?'
'How did this happend to these people, any clue?' For a second Khuthter concentrates and cast the days first spell.

ooc: spell: Detect Magic

Kunther casts around for magic, but finds nothing in the immediate area that is not on his companions. There is, however, a very faint trace of something... necromantic? [Detect magic; Spellcraft]

Rio examines the body, but without formal training in the healing arts, can tell nothing more about its wounds. Any examination of the house would require him to enter the smoke. It would make things difficult, but not impossible for a stalwart fellow like himself. Otherwise, he can search the remains of overturns materials outside the house.

Kenn walks round the remains of the hovel, pistol crossbow held low by his hip.
He splits his attention between searching the scattered debris outside the hut and the horizon for signs of the hut-burners.
"Anybody here know how to read the vasty and subtle palimpest of the wild? Preserved in this ground must be a record of the doings of all the woodland denizens today."

Khuther frowns his nose and whispers over his breath 'necromancy... its faint but its there... necromancy...'

"I do not like the sound of that." declares Kenn.
Abandoning subtlety, he brings the crossbow up and sweeps around the clearing for targets.

"Did Khoros come down here, or is he being sensible?"

OOC: Wik hasn't posted here, though he's been elsewhere. Someone might want to shoot him an email. Same goes for Someone's character Tam: until I hear from either, their PCs are MIA.

Kenn notices that Khoros is nowhere to be seen; he seems to have stayed with the cart. Grumbling, he searches more thoroughly... and does find what appears to be a set of heavy tracks. Large feet, but not exactly booted... not skeletal or paw either. He's at a loss to describe it. However, even finding it, following in the scrub will be next to impossible without training.
