Thanks. So, if I understand correctly with my 7X7 square example:
Code:
Close Blast 2 Close Burst 2
_______ _______
_______ _XXXXX_
___XX__ _XXXXX_
___XX__ _XXCXX_
___C___ _XXXXX_
_______ _XXXXX_
_______ _______
Yes, perfect. Even the corners. ;)

LOL, technically these corners are 3 squares away from the caster. But yes, even the corners.

EDIT: Yeah, not really because of 1:1 diagonal movement. I haven't yet tried the new 1:1 movement.

"Close" in regards to Blast just means that it doesn't provoke OAs. An "Area" Blast would provoke OAs. They're both adjacent to the caster.

No. "Close" is the type of attack. It signifies that it doesn't provoke an OA. "Blast" is the shape of the attack. They are descriptors for two different things.
Okay. I thought "Close" was more than that. Also, didn't know about the OA.

How would an Area blast be adjacent to the caster?

We haven't seen an Area blast yet, but I really don't see them as adjacent to the caster. The shape "blast" should just need to be adjacent to the designated target square.
