Campaign World calendar- Real world or Custom?

I've always had trouble keeping in mind the various calendars for the campaign worlds I've played in. I think I would prefer if the next campaign world just use our real world calendar, so my question is:

Do you guys like fictional calendars in your campaign worlds, and would it be too much of an intrusion into fantasy if a real world calendar were used?

My homebrew world is a version of Earth, so I get to use a "real-world" calendar. Of course, there are other worlds, each with its own calendar.

My current (homebrew) campaign uses a custom calendar and my most of my previous campaigns were in a published settings and used the calendar that was described within. I used to think that campaign calendars were essential but now I'm starting to lean in the same direction as you, Wil. The players never know the names of the months, so I end up having to equate it to a real world time of year, so what's the point. I'm fairly likely to use a real calendar next time.

Of course not. You just have a well developed world and a lot of opinions about settings and what elements should be used in them.

I sort of use a real world one, it is just easier and call me a lazy DM. Oh, I also use old Old Farmer's Almanacs for a lot of info.
