Campaigns inspired by songs

There are some Brazilian songs that could span an entire campaign or at least a good one shot. But once they are in Portuguese, there is no much sense in sharing them here ;)
Well, you could always post the lyrics, either translated, or letting others translate them for themselves. Maybe add a quick summary.

For an urban/criminal campaign or adventure, Ice-T’s “Midnight” (which sampled Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin tunes) has a storyline similar to the classic movie, The Warriors and/or the 90s homage, Judgement Night.

More songs that inspired some of my PCs:

Van Halen “Atomic Punk”
Black Sabbath “Johnny Blade”
Black Sabbath “Neon Knights”
The Police/Grace Jones “Demolition Man”
The Beatles “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer”

You could probably get a supernatural thriller adventure out of The Eagles’ “Hotel California”.

Queensrÿche’s concept album, Operation Mindcrime, could serve as a nifty backbone for a campaign.

Long Black Veil by Johnny Cash and the entirety of the album Henry's Dream by Nick Cave for all sorts of small town Southern Gothic murder mysteries.

My current campaign has a plot seed inspired by Delta Dawn. The players are curious as to what the lady sitting in the park all day is about and they've gotten as far as discovering that the faded rose she wears is from Faerie.

Astronomy Domine by Pink Floyd for a psychedelic slower-than-light Traveller game
Dominion by Sisters of Mercy for a Birthright campaign
The Prophet's Song by Queen
All of Queen II
Five Years by Bowie
Warrior on the Edge of Time by Hawkwind
The Necromancer and Cygnus X-1 by Rush
Return of the Giant Hogweed by Genesis

Generally: tons of drug-fuelled prog rock from the 70s.

So to follow up on Fingertips by They Might Be Giants . . . . .

If you've never heard the song . . . well, um, yeah.

It's the epitome of a juxtaposition.

But seriously . . . This is clearly some Star Wars RPG character's life story . . . .

Everything is catching, yes
Everything is catching on fire!
Everything is catching on fire!

Fingertips

I hear the wind blow
I hear the wind blow
It seems to say hello!
"Hello, I'm the one who loves you so"

Hey now everybody, now
Hey now everybody!
Hey now everybody, now!

Who is that standing out the window?

I've found a new friend
Underneath my pillow

Come on and wreck my car!
Come on and wreck my car!
Come on and wreck my car!
Come on and wreck my car!

Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye?
Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye?

Please pass the milk, please
Please pass the milk, please
Please pass the milk, please

Leave me alone
Leave me alone

Who's knocking on the wall?

All alone, all alone
All by myself

What's that blue thing doing here?

Something grabbed ahold of my hand
I didn't know what had my hand
But that's when all my troubles began

I don't understand you (I don't understand you)
I just don't understand you (I don't understand you)
I don't understand the things you say
I can't understand a single word
I don't understand you (I don't understand you)
I just don't understand you (I don't understand you)
I cannot understand you (I don't understand you)
I don't understand you (I don't understand you)

I heard a sound
I turned around
I turned around to find the thing that made the sound

Mysterious whisper
Mysterious whisper
Mysterious whisper
Mysterious whisper

The day that love came to play

I'm having a heart attack
I'm having a heart attack
I'm having a heart attack
I'm having a heart attack

I walk along darkened corridors
And I walk along darkened corridors
I walk along darkened corridors
And I walk along darkened corridors

Blue Oyster Cult's "Veteran of the Psychic Wars." Bonus points because it was part of the Heavy Metal soundtrack. This might make a decent inspiration for a science fiction campaign with psychics who can't, or aren't permitted, to lay down arms.

One of the guys I designed a fantasy setting with used this song as inspiration for a pretty cool spell

This is sort of a cheat: Professor Elemental’s “Sir, You Are Being Hunted” is a song about being stranded on the rural part of a planet while hunted by killer robots, as performed by a knock-off steampunk Time Lord performer.

Thing is, it’s already part of/inspired by an actual video game, footage from which is in PE’s video. Still…
