D&D 5E CB's Stonefast IC -- COMPLETE

How's this? If anyone wants to add a guidance (+1d4) check to their skills, You can assume that Father Spec will cast the spell if he's there, unless I've already posted that he's doing something else. Just add "Fharlanghn help me" or something to what your character says. CB can of course disallow any specific instances if she likes, or if it isn't applicable.
Fine by me. Two things: 1.) Make sure you say "Fharlanghn help me," or some similar thing that credits Spec's god; and 2.) Differentiate the d4 in a separate roll so that if ever it will not apply, it will be clear how much to subtract. Also, as previously mentioned at the inception of play, guidance is concentration-based.

Cantrips really are uber in this edition.

[sblock=Spec Religion 21]The room is an ossuary. Judging by the bolt holes and a half inch channel cut in a groove in the middle of the floor, there might also have been a work table where priests prepared bodies for burial. There is no table here now, however.[/sblock]

As the group checks out the skull room (Room 13), Spec and Guran hear a scuttling sound from the northwest corner, to your right. Something or, more accurately, somethings are moving.

Father Spec casts light on his shield so that he can see the room better. He is about to explain to Roscoe how he suspects the bodies have all been carefully prepared, and that bones may be tightly wrapped an positioned behind the skull, possibly with grave goods. He had just noticed some holes in the floor when the noise emerged from outside.

"Ready, chaps!"

He raises his shield, keeps his other hand free, and prepares to go face whatever is the source of the noise.

Guran turns toward the sound. In light of the fact that the room holds bones, he draws his light hammer instead of a handaxe.

Colden smiles his thanks to father Spec for the light. The torches work in a pinch, but the clean light of that particular spell seemed to push back the darkness a bit better.

Alerted to the sounds he draws his warhammer and hunkers behind the shield.

A rat popped its head out of a miniscule crack in the masonry at the foot of the wall. Its body wriggled free soon after. The rat had eyes that glowed red in the light shed from Spec's spellcraft, and a gold ring anchored twixt uneven yellowed incisors that looked as if they meant business. It scuttled forward a bit, hissed at Colden, then high-tailed it for the open doorway.

OOC: We won't bother with initiative. The rat is sizeable for its species, but Tiny per the MM. What do you do?

Father Spec isn't especially athletic. He's an old man with a perpetually running nose but peculiarly sharp eyes. It's the gold ring in the rat's teeth that catch his attention, and so he says, "Catch it! Catch it by the tail!" and moves into a position preventing the rat from having any retreat into its hole.

OOC: Hope that counts as a helping action for anyone who wants to try to grapple the thing and pick it up. With Spec helping, it should be advantage on the check?
