oh yeah, one other thing i forgot to mention: Lord Raob's army is out in the open, on top of a 750 foot cliff that 250 foot long by 160 foot wide (roughly).

The party is supposed to sneak by and get into the portals with stealth.

My party's druid simply cast Controll Winds, summoned a tornado. Even a 12th level fighter can't make DC 15 checks once a round for three hours. Everyone was blown off the side eventualy.

With the casting of one spell, the adventure could effectly end.

Hmmm, I just asked a similar question on the boards: "I think the module designer intended Lord Raob's army to be intimidating. But, my players immediately started counting how many Fireballs they could cast at the open top of the Finger. (Answer = > 25) Did anyone's party use stealth to enter the Citadel?" ;-)

My party also decided that they will make a special effort to destroy the Army's foodstocks and/or tents in order to make further occupation of the Finger untenable if they somehow fail to slay everyone with multiple Fireballs. Another issue for the DM to be aware of.
