Nurlan greets the newcome in Gnomish: "
Welcome! I am sorry I cannot help you with the gems, but do join us for a drink and song!
" He then saunters toward Hasin, as the latter perks up, and says, "I promised you a song, do not fall asleep before I have had a chance to make good." He begins to sing Of Wine, Women and Song, a tune about how the good life is made by wine that is well-aged and big-boned, women that are neither, and songs that are -- well, are just about anything, so long as they are enjoyed in the presence of wine that is well-aged and big-boned and women that are not.

Bront

The man with the probe
A shapely woman in a distrinct suit of plate armor steps into the inn. She removes her helm and shakes her head, as her long red hair flows out. She examines those in the room with her emerald eyes, "I am Juliana Hayes, and for those interested, I can craft fine weapons and armor for a price."

She strides in confidently and grabs a seat at the bar. Joe slides her a mug of ale, to which she nods and sips.

OOC: Juliana can craft anything masterwork quality, and a bow up to +2 strength. Just ask her, or stop in her shop here.

Fimble bows deeply to Nurlan. In gnomish he replies, "
I haven't heard this tongue for ages. It's so pleasant to meet someone who speaks it so fluently.
"

To Droggle, "Thanks for your offer, sir, but I think these particular gems may need a specialist's eye, though. Too bad I'm not near home, my father's the greatest gemcutter in all of Fallon!"

To everyone, Fimble also announces, "As I said, I'm an illusionist. As such, I'm always looking for spells to add to my book. I'm willing to pay the standard price to copy a spell, and if you're interested, perhaps we could exchange spells."

OOC: Once he's L3, Fimble will have these in his spellbook:

0: All PHB spells
1: color spray, charm person, disguise self, expeditious retreat, mage armor, magic missile, silent image, ventriloquism
2: hypnotic pattern, minor image, invisibility

"My companions and I find ourselves in need of an appraisal. Surely there's someone here with a keen eye for gems?"

Devlin eyes the newcomer after his pronouncement. "I would be happy to take a look at your treasure for you, good gnome. For a nominal fee, of course."

Droggle raises a brow at that.

"If you say so master gnome. Gems are my family business, though I dont have the knack for it that seems to run in the rest of my clan. Though without too much modesty, I can say no dwarf has a better eye for gems than a coldfist, present company excluded of course.

though I can't say I am familiar with the gnomish jewlers"

Fimbus turns back to Droggle. "Well, I can't say that I'm familiar with the Coldfist clan, either. Perhaps our families know each other, if they're both in the jewel business. If that's the case, we're already halfway to being friends." The gnome smiles and his spectacles twinkle.

"Now then, you sir, at the bar. A nominal fee, you say? Name your price. A flat rate? We have three valuable stones to be priced."

Maladar? Valan intones, seeing his newest diceing partner slipping, Don't forget about us, or I'll take your turn. Valan winks at Jinx. That usually wakes 'em up

Devlin walks over to the gnome and gives him an appraising look. "Since we are newly met, a flat fee I think. That way you can be assured that I have no personal stake in the value of your baubles and might perchance overrate them. What say you to a crown per piece?"

Devlin walks over to a table near the fire. "Come, the light is a little better over here."

Michael takes a small stone out of a pouch on his belt and begins fingering it as he concentrates on an unpleasant letter.

...The town of Duvik's Pass lies abandoned and in ruins.
The people have died or fled. Your silver is not recoverable.
The Falloni were not responsible.

He wishes there was a way to sugarcoat this.
There'd have to be some sugar first...

He sips at a mug of hot tea, then grins mirthlessly at an old memory.

Master Ashin,
The town of Duvik's Pass is on the roof...
