Brannon and Gyle return to Westerhedge where Rory is tending to the boy, asking him questions about the attack. Seeing your return, Rory excuses himself from the boy's side and comes over to tell you what he's learned. "At this point, I believe we should escort the boy home unless either of you have another idea?"

"Escorting the boy home sounds like the best plan." Brannon replies. "Perhaps we can question the boy's father more about the mask.

The three of you leave Westerhedge to escort young Rekar home. Heading north through the streets towards the Highside Stacks, you move through the crowds with ease. Rekar is making small talk as you go, talking a mile a minute about nothing the way kids do.

When you are near to the boundary between the districts, the people stop moving - there is a commotion of some kind ahead. You overhear a few people murmuring things like "never happened before" and "such a nice old man". As you push your way forward, you finally break into an open area, in front of a small store. There was a glass window as part of the store front, which has been shattered in a thousands of pieces. There is the body of an old man laying in the street and blood everywhere. The old man's body lies on it's back, his face cut up by glass, his chest slashed open in several spots.

When Rekar sees the man's body, his face drains of color and after a moment is starts to blubber uncontrollably. When you ask him what's going on, he just points at the sign above the shop while continuing to cry. The sign reads "Belor's Toys."

Brannon takes in the scene and quickly calls for Rory. "Rory! Quickly, see if it is too late for this man."

He then studies the rest of the scene asking the nearest cluster of people "What happened here?

Rory and Gyle quickly check the old man's body for signs of life, but find none. He appears to have lost quite a bit of blood and the wounds on his chest are very deep. Through the broken window you can also see pools of blood inside the store, strangely juxtaposed against the wares he sold - children's toys, some still sitting on shelves, some scattered across the floor.

Brannon begins asking people in the crowd what happened and what they saw, several bystanders tell you variations of "Old man Belor came flying out the glass window." One of them says they saw a dark figure inside the shop toss him out the window.

"We best check this out, that dark figure these people report seeing might be the same one that assaulted the boy." Brannon states.

Brannon tries to position himself to see more clearly into the store through the broken window to see if he can see anyone inside.
