Sure; and in that show, the characters where all recruited by the leader way at the start of the series.

The "make X characters" and pick reflects the fact they are all picked for competence and compatibility, but not "designed by committee".

I may be misremembering the 80s but I thought they were a crack commando unit in nam. Then sent to jail for a crime they didn’t commit (and as such broke out and were hunted)

However I am now also thinking of MASK and how each week the took different specialists.

Either way we would still all do character creation togather and get a say
