[D&D 5E] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr (IC)

"Just chips? These people are disgu-WHAT THE GRUUMSHLAND?" Gnorth springs into action, pulling out his trusty warhammer in a two handed grip and rushing forward into the room. He takes a swing at the standing enemy and ducks behind a column, hoping to keep the enemy from being able to sneak up his team without answering to him first. Realizing Brue is still in pain, he rattles off a little healing tune in an attempt to keep her up!

OOC: moving to G3, while drawing the hammer in two hands. When entering Brue's space, Grnoth takes his standard action to swing at Zom2 (if still up), or Skel1 [roll0] [roll1]. As a bonus action, he uses the aforementioned healing word on Brue.

Gnorth's warhammer smashed into the revived zombie's head, driving the two crossbow bolts even deeper and ending the thing for good. Spotting the serpentine skeleton at the far end of the room, he muttered, "Why did it have to be snakes?" before slipping behind the statue to his north. He trusted that the genasi would seek cover from further lightning bolts.

Two of the skeletons took off like a shot, driven back by the power of Tymora and cowering in the far corners of the room. The final skeleton appeared to not be bothered by Lorenzo's divine declaration and moved next to the cleric, rusty sword in hand as it attacked. Fortunately for the cleric, his armor turned the creature's sword, despite his paralysis.

OOC: Skeleton1 Move: M2
Skeleton1 Action: Dash to N1
Skeleton2 Move: G5
Skeleton2 Action: Attack Lorenzo (Advantage): (1d20+4)[16], (1d20+4)[18], if hit (Crit): (2d6+5)[12]
Skeleton3 Move: N8
Skeleton3 Action: Dodge

Having just avoided the blast of lightning, Boddynock was not at all sure he wanted to contend with the creature in the other room. Catching sight of it, he realized that it was a bone naga, a dangerous capable spellcaster of undead persuasion. Moving behind Brue, the gnome snapped off a quick bolt of fire, hoping to break the creature's concentration on whatever spell it had used to paralyze Lorenzo. The bolt of flame glanced off the creature, the minor singing going nearly unnoticed by the creature.

"We must kill the bone naga quickly, it has more spells than just that lightning!"

OOC: Move: D4
Action: Cast Fire Bolt at Naga, [roll0], Damage: [roll1]

It is now Brue's turn! There is a skeleton in front of Lorenzo, the other zombie hasn't moved yet, and the other two skeletons are in the far east corners of the room.

Brue moved into the chamber and leveled a blow at the skeleton threatening the helpless Lorenzo. With the creature distracted with trying to end Lorenzo's life, she smashed the creature to bone flinders with a devastating strike. The genasi quickly surmised the creature's frail form did not stand up well against her heavy, blunt maul.

The remaining zombie moved up to stop Brue's progress. Possibly due to the still prominently displayed holy symbol, however, it targeted the paralyzed cleric, smashing its arm against him. The blow made a loud ringing noise as it struck Lorenzo's shield, apparently leaving the cleric unharmed.

OOC: Zombie1 Move: G4
Zombie1 Action: Attack Lorenzo (w/Advantage): [roll0], [roll1], Critical Damage (if hit): [roll2]

"You know, Brue, I've been, uh, thinking," Gnorth ducked around the others, trying to begin circling around the naga, "your skin is, er...ok, don't take this the wrong way...but sorta earth like, right?" Gnorth swung his warhammer from behind the pillar, hoping to unhinge the zombie's jaw and feel for just a moment like an enemy was surprised to see him,"How do you know when bathing if you have scrubbed off dirt and not, like...you know what, nevermind." Gnorth realized there was no way to ask properly. As he turned back to see where he was going, he realized the Naga had magically appeared! Or had moved when Gnorth wasn't paying Attention! Either way, he stopped surprised at just north of the southwestern pillar.

OOC: Gnorth is moving to H7. When passing through f4, he takes a swing at Zombie McSoontobeinawe [roll0] [roll1]. Bonus Action: Feels embarrassed when he sees the naga and from the question and stops short of trying to enter the monster's space

Corilo (36/36): Attacked and hit the bone naga three times
Lorenzo (27/27): Attacked Zombie1, critical hit!

Boddynock (30/30): Attacked Zombie1, missed horribly.
Brue (15/39): Pending

Bone Naga (-25/??): Moved and cast Charm Person

Skeleton2 (-22/??): Dead
Skeleton3 (0/??): Dodging (Turned 2/10)
Zombie1 (-23/??): Pending
Zombie2 (-31/??): Dead

Hearing Boddynock's advice, Corilo ducked around the south edge of the statute he was taking cover behind and lined up three quick shots, striking the bone naga squarely in the head, fracturing its skull. The creature hissed loudly as Lorenzo showed signs of movement, the attack having broken its concentration on the spell holding the cleric. Remembering the lightning bolt vividly, the crossbowman ducked back around the statue to gain some level of cover.

Lorenzo, finally freed of the compulsion, stabbed at the zombie in front of him, spearing it through the head. The cleric was disappointed to see that the zombie was still standing in front of him, but at least its head was a bit off kilter.

OOC: Lorenzo
Move: None
Action: Attack (Zombie1) - [roll0], Damage [roll1]

The bone naga, still wincing from the fusillade delivered by Corilo, shifted south and writhed its skeletal frame in an arcane manner, hissing eldritch syllables. Corilo felt a powerful enchantment pushing against his will.

OOC: Bone Naga
Move: Shifted to H-I/6-7
Action: Cast Charm Person on Corilo

@Olrox17 Corilo needs to make a DC12 Wisdom Save w/Advantage or be charmed by the bone naga.

Gnorth drew up short with the bone naga before him. Hoping to thin the ranks, he smashed the remaining zombie with his hammer. While the blow was struck true, the creature still stood. Lorenzo frowned and said, "These abominations are far more hardy than they have any right to be. I fear foul magic."

Across the room, the skeletons continued to cower from the bright light shining forth from Lorenzo's shield.

Boddynock, unable to really see what was going on in the rest of the room, grumbled and conjured a mote of fire, flinging it at the only target he could see: the remaining zombie. His aim, however, was truly atrocious and nearly struck Brue.

OOC: Boddynock
Move: None
Action: Cast fire bolt at Zombie1, Attack - [roll0], Damage: [roll1]

@CanadienneBacon: Brue is up, I'll update the map in the Round2 post a few minutes.

Brue paused and stared bug-eyed at Gnorth. Rude! she thought. Seeing the bone naga slither forward in a series of crackling movements, Brue took a step backward and hefted her stone maul. A slow smile dented the corner of her mouth, raising dusky lips. "Dunno, orc," she retorted, emphasizing the word 'orc,' "can you tell when you've washed off your stink, or is it that your skin's just naturally steeped in foulness and it won't come clean?" Brue swung at the zombie. A moment later, she shot a mean-eyed look at Boddynock when the gnome narrowly pummeled her with his arcane mishap.

As Brue stepped back, the bone naga took advantage of her shift, striking out swiftly. Fortunately, between Gnorth being in the way and Brue's armor, the attack was deflected.

Her attack on the zombie was a true blow, smashing the creature to the ground and returning it to death.

OOC: The bone naga has a 10' reach, so Brue has unfortunately provoked an OA from the bone naga by moving out of its reach.
OA: Attack - [roll0], Damage - [roll1] piercing damage + [roll2] poison damage.
