OOC: End tables work, the adventure doesn't specify. The grey line is from the overall map. With the manor being built into the cliff, the line just indicates where the natural cliff face would end if it still existed. It's probably just a design flourish.

Corilo inspected the room thoroughly, but uncovered no indication of traps. The dust was relatively thick and undisturbed. It seemed like it had been some time since anyone had used the room. The crossbowman thought he heard a slight clatter from the other side of the door. After a second, it stopped and there was only silence.

Combat! Surprise Round and Round 1

Upon opening the door, Brue found a room plunged in darkness, the light from her companion's spells illuminating parts of the room. Low moans and the clacking of bones greeted her, as several zombies and skeletons moved into sight. Behind them was a large serpentine skeleton, hissing something eldritch in a terrifying, raspy voice. As it concluded, the genasi was blinded by a blast of lightning that hurtled toward her. Tymora's luck somewhat in their favor, the lightning bolt first struck one of the mindless zombies.

Gnorth's search of couch cushions is interrupted by an incredibly loud noise and flash of light behind him.

GM: CanadienneBacon - Brue needs to make a DEX saving throw (DC12) or take [roll0] Lightning damage. No one else is in the line of the spell.

Corilo ducked back as the bolt of lightning passed close to his position. Seeing Brue take the full brunt of the bolt but not fall encouraged him. "Coming through," he announced. Darting past the wounded genasi, the crossbowman sited his hand crossbow at the zombie who had been injured by the blast of lightning and snapped off two shots. Both bolts took the zombie in the head, what seemed to be a clear kill. Cognizant of the danger the serpentine skeleton presented, he shifted south, putting a statue between him and the undead creature. As he moved, he was horrified to see the zombie he had just shot was still on its feet, two crossbow bolts sticking out of its skull, and bashed at him with undead strength. Fortunately, the creature's rotting arm swung wide, missing the human by a mile.

OOC: Move to F4, then onto F6
Action: Attack Zombie2 [roll0], Damage: [roll1]
Bonus Action: Attack Zombie2 [roll2], Damage: [roll3]

"Undead? Delightful..." Lorenzo deadpanned from the rear ranks. The Lady had favored him, allowing him to be just outside of the line of the lightning bolt. He wasn't sure what Brue had done to earn her disfavor. But gods were mysterious at times. But one thing he knew the gods of good frowned upon were undead. As such, they provided their servants with tools to overcome them.

Raising his shield to prominently display the holy symbol of his faith, Lorenzo passed by Brue whispering a quick prayer of healing to help her overcome the grievous injuries she had sustained from the bolt of lightning. Stepping into the room, he shifted south in order to not make the serpentine skeleton's job any easier. Holding up his shield, the cleric announced, "With no life, you have no luck. Fear your luck-less existence!"

OOC: Move: F5
Bonus Action: Healing Word to Brue [roll0]
Action: Turn Undead (DC12)

Hissing in anger at the attempted turning, the serpentine skeleton writhed, its bones clacking together in a rhythmic pattern accompanied by a sibilant whispering. Lorenzo felt a strong will being exerted on his mind, attempting to force his muscles to lock down. The undead creature's will proved too strong, the cleric found himself paralyzed!

OOC: Move: None
Action: Cast Hold Person targeting Lorenzo (DC 12)

Map Update:

Gnorth is now up!

Brue stepped forward into the room. She might die, true, but if nothing else her fallen body would slow these fell things from exiting their lair. She swung at Zombie2 with the maul, hoping to render it useless.

[sblock=OOC]Does the maul require attunement, and, if so, does a short rest permit Brue to attune it and to know its qualities? She just got done with a short rest.
Move: F4
Action: stone maul attack [roll0] for [roll1] [roll2] damage
Bonus Action: none
Reaction: none[/sblock]
