--- Round 8 ---

Eternity manifests. In trying to avoid burning her companions as well, she succeeds in only scorching the ceiling.

Zaeryl steps back and manifests another shard, but it goes wide and buries itself into the wall.

Almayce's spiritual weapon follows up on it previous attack. Like its previous attack, it is unsuccessful.

A twist of anger spasms across the shadow's features. It fades back into the floor.

Meanwhile, down in the pit, Michael gingerly removes his backback and takes the lantern from inside. Its not completely dark fortunately. The the dimist of light from Ironwlof's necklace reaches thee bottom of the pit.

Above Michael, Hulgyr crouches at the top of the pit. He can see Michael below easily. If the cleric is able to stand, he should be able to reach Hulgyr's outstretched hand.

Hulgyr eyes if Michael is about to grab his hand or not. If Michael continues to get his lantern Hulgyr will help Zaeryl to make the jump.

Michael glances around in the dim light, belatedly realizing the looming shadow is not a monster, but Hulgyr.
He experiences a moment of profound irony as he jumps for Hulgyrs hand, leaving his pack and lantern in the pit, but taking his hammer and shield.
Feet scrabbling for purchase, he tries to help Hulgyr pull him up.

(attempting aid another:Michael's aid another strength check (1d20+2=16) . Dropping his pack should cut the weight a bit, but Michael's a big guy with big armor.)

The Orc Doesn't seem to have a very good grip at the edge of the pit but tries to pull Michael up anyway.

Eternity will stand ready on the opposite side of the pit ready to help steady people if they land awkwardly. She glances nervously over her shoulder to try and peer into the darkness for moving shadows.
