I figured this website might help people come up with ideas for new dinosaur entries for this thread. (Yes, I realize the thread is old, but you never know.)

He's got some mind-blowing dinosaur illustrations! Like this one...

Queensland Kronosaur (Kronosaurus queenslandicus)
01.jpg

Lived: 110 million years ago (early Cretaceous)

Size: Length (head to tail): 8m

Description: The Queensland Kronosaur was a giant pliosaur - an enormous swimming reptile that terrorised the open ocean and shallow inland seas 110 million years ago. Like other pliosaurs, the Queensland Kronosaur would have used both pairs of limbs to 'fly' underwater. It would have hunted and eaten large fish, invertebrates such as giant squid and ammonites, and perhaps even other large reptiles such as plesiosaurs and ichthyosaurs. Pliosaurs have no close relatives alive today.

Fossils: Fossils of the Queensland Kronosaur have been found at Hughenden and Richmond in central Queensland. The skull and most of the rest of the skeleton have been found.

Did you know?: The Queensland Kronosaur is one of the largest marine reptiles known. Its skull was at least 2.4m long and its teeth were up to 25cm long.

Background
Rugops primus (meaning "first wrinkle face") lived 95 million years ago on Africa. It is an abelisaurid (see below), a group of predators (meat-eaters) known only from southern landmasses-including South America, Madagascar, India and, now, Africa. Its discovery suggests that Africa remain linked by a narrow land bridge to South America and other southern landmasses until about 100-95 million years ago.

Abelisaurids are meat-eaters (theropod dinosaurs) that have small, short-snouted skulls armed with small pointed teeth. Some abelisaurids have cone-shaped horns projecting from their skulls. Their snout bones have a wrinkled texture-a criss-cross pattern of grooves for blood vessels-suggesting that in life their snouts had a horny, or bill-like, covering, rather than scales. Small head size (relative to their body) and small teeth suggest that they may have been scavengers.

I figured people would like visual guided to go with Wippit's old conversions, so I went looking for good images to post here. First up...
