Boral follows that up with another bolt attack against Kreig, "Watch out! Coming your way!"

[roll0]

"Oh what a glorious slaughter! I can't remember the last time I had so much fun," Kurl cackles gleefully as he attempts to bless Homer.

Hank loses his spell of summoning; he'll have to manage without more badgers from here on out. Homer's attacks fail. Franko increases one of the three badgers to great size. The creature looks particularly frightening now.

Tender deals a serious wound to Kreig but Boral misses with his force manipulation and loses the spell. Kurl's blessing is potent and Homer feels the slimy touch of Bobugbubilz on the back of his neck grant him luck.

The wounded and with little hope of actually winning let alone surviving the two thegns continue to battle to revenge their Jarl. Tender's armor, magical and mundane, proves too much for their attacks and he remains relatively uninjured.

Lizt moved along to the nearest thegn. Orioc, she thought she remembered. Raising her blade to slice at him, Lizt briefly contemplated calling for a halt to the attack and giving the two remaining thegns an opportunity to disavow the dead Jarl. Nay, they knew the evil they wrought. They chose it. They're a canker on Hirot that'll only fester if shown mercy. She stabbed at Orioc.

Gratien closed in again on Orioc. Realizing Lizt was flanking the same thegn, Gratien joined her. His mithril shirt sword flashed in the candle- and torchlit hall.

Homer [enlarged and blessed] The human sized halfling scowls and does his double bladed attack
attack - enlarged, blessed: 1D16+2 = [6]+2 = 8
1D16+2 = [4]+2 = 6

Though Fate does not smile on the halfling again.

Hank [prone]: stands up after being knocked silly, but has enough mental composure to try and enlarge his second badger, jumping a bit when his first badger grows larger, much to his surprise. He grunts as he realizes he should not have been surprised by this.
Caster check: 1D20+3 = [11]+3 = 14
"whew, we needed this!" he says relieved his spell did not fail

Badger 1: grows 10% larger, but not any stronger, although it is rather intimidating in its appearence, especially those teeth!
attack - enlarged: 1D20+2 = [12]+2 = 14
It growls and grunts viciously, but did not pierce the Thegn's armor.

Badger 2: enlarged 25% +1 to att, dam and ac
attack - enlarged: 1D20+4 = [12]+4 = 16
The badger's increased strength is just enough to breach the thegn's armor!
Damage: 1D4+1 = [4]+1 = 5
And oh what damage it does!

Badger 3: still enlarged for 1 turn total duration double sized
attack - enlarged: 1D20+6 = [7]+6 = 13
though scary, the badger's attack is successfully turned away, claws and teeth scouring the metal armor.

Franko:
The human jester giggles at his prank on the badger and does it again to the first badger summoned. He is not unintelligent and is aware of the need to win so he calls heavily on the beetle lord and draws on his luck [-6 to luck]
Caster check: Enlarge: 1D20+4 = [3]+4 = 7
with luck burn: 13
"Awwwww, looky at the cute badger!"

ooc: wow, some of those rolls . . . . .

Kurl and Boral take a look at one another and just shrug as if to say, "Let the big boys have at it."

Tender goes to finish off Orioc.

Tender stabs with the spear and follows up with a shield bash and Orioc lies dead in the hall. The enlarged badger grabs Kreig in its teeth and drags the warrior down. It is a terrible way for a warrior and thegn to go, but death comes for him like all the others. The hall is quiet but for the low rumbling of the badgers' growls and the heavy breathing of the survivors.

Blood splatter and bodies make it a grim sight but it is done. The Hound is killed and the cowardly, evil Jarl and his minions put down. Perhaps now justice will rule and the people of Hirot thrive.

Lizt slumped down against a nearby wall and tried to catch her breath. Her short sword wasn't heavy, but she felt tired all the same. "We need Father Beacom to come and collect the dead. I can go, but need a minute. Fighting is harder work than it looks."

Gratien looked around at the gore with a sigh of disgust, retrieved his errant bow, and went outside. He stood at the doorway to the Jarl's abode, dissipating onlookers. The Elf looked down at his bow a time or two, contemplating snapping the nigh useless in half.

Tender cleans his weapon and shield, then says, "And so vengeance is dealt."

Boral finishes, "Yeah. The guy was a bit of a jerk, wasn't he?"

Kurl falls onto his butt and sits grinning. "Ah, man. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun. Y'know. With all the blood and magic and things."
