Druid with Spirit Shaman casting

I've been talking about the Spirit Shaman with a player, and how it fits with his concept. (and the world; the "Spirit" powers don't seem as universally useful at first glance)

Assuming that SS Casting == Sorc Casting == Druid Casting, replacing the Druid casting with the Spirit Shaman system doesn't seem too bad, does it?

Along with the PHB2 Druid Shapeshift, it seems a lot more...witchy, for lack of a better word.

Anyway, just tossing it out there to see if someone who's ran/played the Spirit Shaman would weigh in with a "yea", "nea", or "meh".

Spirit Shaman Casting + Wildshape would be scary. Druids are scary enough as is.

Spirit Shaman Casting + Shapeshift would be better balance-wise.

Spirit Shaman get fewer spells prepared than Druids, right? And their save DCs are based on Charisma, right?

If so, then it's a wash in terms of power, IMHO. Go for it. :)

Spirit Shamans have the same spells per day but get fewer spells known per day, but they can change it on a day by day basis. I think that's what he's talking about.
