Saithnar waves his right hand in a sweeping motion in front of him while saying to the man "You don't want to take that pie friend. You'd rather go buy one from Edwyd's store instead..." The man hears these words repeat and echo in his mind as Saithnar's will tries to overcome his and make the man into a friend...

Rathan watches the man juggling what appears to be invisable objects as he almost completely forgets about the pie until he himself feels the weight shift and the pie raise into the air.... " pie... pie pie pie!!! BAD pie... come back!" the flustered cleric yelps out as he reaches up with a slight jump and manages to snatch the pie from mid air in a spectacular show of sheer determination as he cradles the pie to him and turns his back to the wizard to get it out of his line of sight....

" get the mage AWAY from the pie my friends!" the still half stunned cleric shouts as he STILL can't beleive he was able to snatch the pie from the wizards magic grip...

[sblock=Refl Save] Ref Save for the Pie! (1d20=20) ..... man.... can't get any better than this.. what luck.. hehe[/sblock]

Galwynn curses loudly. "All this... over Pie!?" He fingers the hilt of his blade, but decides against using it. "Everyone, run! Cludge! Don't hurt him unless you have to!"

Galwynn rushes the mage, prepared to tackle him to the ground.

[sblock=OOC]I'm making a grapple attack. Here are my rolls:

Galwynn's Grab attempt (1d20+3=12) - a melee touch attack. Assuming it hits...

Galwynn's Hold Attempt (1d20+3=9) - this is my hold attempt. It's the one that gets opposed (if I'm doing grapple rules right... I hates 'em, I does!) [/sblock]

The young wizard moved forward into the crowd when his telekinetic theft failed.

Unfortunately for him, he runs right into the arms of Galwynn the paladin. The surprised wizard tries to bop (1d20+1=2) the paladin on the head with his quarterstaff, but Galwynn ducks the inexperienced blow easily and even manages to knock the large wooden weapon out of the wizard's hand. With the wizard disarmed and untrained, Galwynn thinks he has this under control. To his dismay, the wizard manages to slip (1d20+1=21) out of Galwynn's hold.

I'm assuming Rathan is just shielding the pie and running? You didn't really give an action besides catching the pie, Rathan.

Still waiting for AGFlynn with Cludge's action. If there's nothing by tomorrow afternoon, I'm going to assume he runs forward with Rathan, protecting the pie.

Rathan does indeed move on with the pie cradled in his arms he was fastly growing ill from all the attempts on the pie, "may I never eat another apple pie again" the fustrated cleric utters low as he moves on with or without his comrades. He was bound and determined to get the pie to it's destination and be done with it. Never had he seen food the target of thieves and mages such as this before, did they have nothing better to do?

Cludge Slatefist, Pie Escort

OOC: Sorry was away for the weekend. Apologies if this is out of turn.

Cludge watches wild-eyed as the commotion unfolds around him. Stick with the pie, he mutters under his breath. HOLD FAST, RATHAN, he bellows. He moves to walk in front of the pie bearer, seeing that Galwynn appears to be engaged with the interloper. I'm with ye, Rathan, he says, eyes sweeping the crowd for more trouble. A cloud of dust blows into his face, obscuring his vision almost completely.

[sblock=Spot check] Spot check (1d20-1=0)[/sblock]

Ya must all make way, STAND BACK FROM THA PIE, he yells, coughing.

[sblock=Intimidate check] Intimidate check (1d20+4=15) [/sblock]

Galwynn grunts as the mage slips out of his grasp. Moving quickly, he does his best to tackle the man once more...

Galwynn's Grab Attempt, take 2 (1d20+3=8)

...and fails miserably. "What the...?" he mutters as he watches the mage move away.

[Sblock=OOC]Ha, looks like we're even, Flynn.

Rae - this is what Galwynn will be doing if he can. IF something else comes up (ie, the mage is involved in combat somewhere else, or tries to run) Galwynn will instead try to punch the mage, but I'd be using the same roll, so....[/sblock]

Cludge succeeds at parting the crowd for Rathan, the people move out of the dwarf's way without protest. They're too focused watching the young mage's antics to be too frightened, though.

Galwynn attacks, the mage slips out.

Saithnar speaks his calming words over the din of the crowd, and he instantly has the wizard's friendship. He suddenly stops his approach and says, "Why, I think you're right, my good friend. I honestly don't know what I was thinking! I was just so overcome with desire for that pie, that... Well, I think I'll take your advice and go buy a pie of my own. Terribly sorry to have bothered you all." With that, the young wizard bows politely to Galwynn, picks up his dropped quarterstaff, and heads off in the direction of Edwyd's Victuals.

Over by the tower, the blue smoke has dissipated. The door suddenly flies open and a tall human in robes, presumably Rilithorne, comes out shouting, "Bats blast you, Jon Kilran, what did I tell you about messing with my potions! Half the blessed city will be in love with each other by the time that stuff dissipates on its own!" Rilithorne waves his hands around and a spray of orange fog comes out, mixing with the blue fog to create... nothingness. The mage runs off after Jon scolding, "Come back here you worthless lump of foppishness!"

The crowd smiles nervously at the powerful wizard unleashing all sorts of magic, but they're surprisingly calm. They turn toward Cludge and Rathan, wondering whether the parade is still on...

OOC: Go ahead and regain your composure, then we'll move on.

To AGFlynn: That's perfectly alright, I didn't mean to rush you, but I wanted to keep things moving. It all worked out fine. =)
