When you take a Reflex save for half damage, or have Evasion and take no damage, does your character physically move out of his 5 ft. square? I've never played that they do, but it kinda makes a little more logical sense.

...Although I realize logic has nothing to do with D&D in many cases...

No, they don't. In theory, the evading PC has found something to duck behind or under to avoid the blast. I usuallly just imagine the rogue dropping to the ground, while the fireball explodes overhead.

You're right, though. This is one of those instances where logic has nothing to do with D&D. :D

They don't move on a successful use of Evasion. Although apparently they did in early drafts of the 3E rules; this was changed after feedback from playtesters where the party was fireballing their rogue to move him a few extra feet in emergencies.
