Even Newer(er) Tavern Thread: The Hanged Man

[sblock=ooc] Hmm ...I'm torn. I don't want you to think badly of me, but I do have some reservations as to TCO's participation in an adventure with other PCs of such a higher level than his own. Cadalis' adventure has the PCs at lvl 3 as the highest. In Kruor's there are PCs are up to level 7.

This adventure is here banging noisily on the door ...

So, I'm going to go with my gut on this one and graciously withdraw from Kruor's adventure (be what it may) and jump on borad with Cadalis.

Dox looks impassively at the goings on.

Kruor peers from around the corner, with Kamotz looking at him sternly. He slowly creeps in to the bar maid's ward. As soon as her eyes locked in on Kruor, they started bulging. Before she could react however, Kruor started rambling.

"Wait, wait, wait. Me sorry. Me sorry for just now. Me long time no hunt, so me forget me sharp sometimes. But waitress-lady alright, see? You no more leaking blood. And healy man make you all better!"

The barmaid starts crying, as she starts wailing about how she didn't want to work at the Hanged Man. But she's an orphan without any profitable skills and the only other alternative was to be an escort. As she goes on about how her life is miserable and how she wants to at least live with dignity, Kruor tries to comfort her, which he finds hard to do since he's full of needles and covered in rust.

Later, he asks Kamotz: "Uh...wolf-man. Me hear sad story just now, but what meaning escort? Why it so bad?"

As many of the itinerant killers and scholars within the tavern congregated around a potential paying client, there were few eyes left watching the door.

Those who were still paying attention saw the front door open just a bit- it was obvious that someone was taking a look before they stepped inside. After only a few seconds, though, the door was pushed open the rest of the way. Standing on the threshold was a young human woman with short-cropped brown-gold hair, sun-gold skin, and plain clothing of light brown and dark grey. She wore armor of some dusty grey hide and a short cloak; a longbow and capped quiver were slung across her back, and a longknife and a tangle of braided leather cord hung from her belt. She stepped into the room with a smooth graceful stride, an almost feline (and certainly predatory) motion.

She looked around the room more carefully, spotting the posted rules of the place (and, no doubt, many other details). She then moved up to the bar. "My name is Lenyara, and I'm looking for work," she said to the bartender, though her purring rasp of a voice was audible to anyone nearby.
