D&D 5E Exodus (OOC)

The Exodus idea has been in my head for a little over 15 years. I have tried to get it going as a campaign, both tabletop and PbP, several times, but none of them ever clicked.

This time, although its still early, its like I'm inspired. Like we have a perfect storm of awesome characters and...something else.

Bwah. Neck broken in jumpcut.

Juno had Dawson in this ready room briefing with the marines...and suddenly she warped time and space and is in the hyperdrive room with the other PCs?

Should I...add anything to my post? I can do that. It's no trouble.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm in complete agreement. This has the makings of something epic. I'm seriously considering ruthlessly stealing the idea for a live game at some point.

BTW - I took the liberty of assuming that as a trained combat medic Trace would be tapped as an emergency responder while on board ship, with a secondary duty station in Medical. As such, he would be assigned a first aid/medkit, which he would be required to have on hand at all times for emergencies. Does that fit with your view of our roles aboard ship?

Sorry about that Shayuri. I felt that the intermediate details weren't necessary. Reyes is a hero to the other marines on board so they tend to give her more leeway to do things her way, even the higher ranking ones. So, the jump-cut was mainly to illustrate that and get everyone to the hyperdrive, as well as to emphasize the surreal aspect of what's happening...one character planning on going to the bridge but ending up at the hyperdrive, another wanting to go to the infirmary but ending up at the hyperdrive, and so on.
Brother Dave, that's fine. There are med-kits aplenty scattered around the ship. Most officers and senior civilian personnel have them in their quarters, all military areas have one, there's several on the bridge and in the engine room, etc.

Ah! Gotcha!

Okay, I will put some elaboration in my post, then post again to the situation in the h-drive room...

...and fixed. :)

Dang! Things are kicking into high gear now! It's so cool because I don't really know what's going on or what this creature is for sure. If it was generic, standard D&D, I'd have expectations and guesses. I'm just totally open to whatever is gonna happen next. Time for Airman Babington to start being a wizard!

Question: I'd guess that by that time in the future, they can have arm wearable or glove/gauntlet mounted personal computer system type things. Let me tell you what I'm picturing and see if it's doable. Can my Spellbook be a holographic interfacing, digital Spellbook? I'm not sure how that would work with the costs for scribing spells into books, etc. If it needs to be an old fasioned, physical spellbook, I understand. I just had a visual of interfacing with it like the tech in Mass Effect 3, or Iron Man's holographic design station, etc. If that's possible, cool. If not, I'll do whatever's needed. Let me know what you think Kiraya.

Everyone has access to a Ipad X which is a tablet with a holographic interface. Wearable tech was a fad in the 2030s but ultimately failed to find a market. A spellbook can absolutely be stored digitally but...

There may be side effects. ;) Its never been done before, after all.

Challenge accepted! Let's see what happens.

Also, since I plan on making my Wizard a Divination specialist and Diviners regularly use mirrors for their divinations, I was thinking of continuing the 'Man in the Mirror' theme if that's cool. Maybe to the point that a little later, I start having him standing in front of the mirror in the now, communicating to himself through it in the past. So the man in the mirror that is training him in magic... is himself(!)... after having been taught magic by the 'Man in the Mirror'!! If we're ever forced to leave/lose the ship though, he may have to try and break his mirror and take a piece...
