EDIT: Oh wait, I forgot Fried Banana taste good. Heck, fried anything tastes good.

Technically, when you deep fry[1] a banana, it moves from the "fruits and vegetables" food group to the "deep fried" food group. And yes, you can deep fry anything. Go ask Tony Bourdain.

Thing is, I'm not a huge apple pie fan. The apple pies I like have really small pieces of apple, and much more of the goo (I believe that's the technical term for it). I don't like chomping into massive slices of apple in my pies.

But of the fruit pies, I suppose I like apple best. I'm glad so far no one has suggested peach cobbler. Uff da.

Then you've never had a good one. A good apple pie should be made with good baking apples (like a Granny Smith's) sliced, not diced and made with a sugar and lemon juice base that coats the apples and creates a sauce DURING the baking, not before. The apples are firm and tart, not wimpy and tasteless and complimented by the baked syrup not drowned by it. If you are heading to GenCon this year remind me to try and bring one.
