And now the exciting chase scene...Round 1

Had to go dig up a few chase rules first...

The party is attempting to escape in a skycab, hotly pursued by the villains in a skytruck.

The order is

Kae
Zook
The bad guys
Bharag/Veyk
Rethlin

Veyk and only Veyk, can drive the carriage at this point, as he's the only one able to reshape his body enough to reach the reins from the inside.
The rest of the party can fire out the back windows, try to support Veyk, or do anything else they'd normally do in a carriage being driven erratically above the ground.

Firing out the back is done at -2 while the carriage is moving.

Veyk, you have a 50 foot lead on the skytruck.
Every round you need to make an opposed Handle Animal test against the driver of the skytruck. If you win, you gain an extra 50 feet on them.

Alternately, you can try to break contact by making an opposed Handle Animal test against the driver of the skytruck with a bonus of +2 for every 50 feet over the first 50 between you. Winning the test means you escape.

Right now you have only two kinds of terrain to worry about: clouds and clear sky.
You can reach the clouds in one round. If you're in the clouds, you and the driver of the other skytruck both take a penalty of -6 on your Handle Animal tests and have full concealment from each other, so you can't target each other.
You can, however, be pursued.

Things will get more exciting if you get around buildings, which you could do in a few rounds if you decided you wanted to.

Kae is up.

OOC: Handle Animal is "trained only", so I don't think Rethlin will be able to aid another. He can, however, cast Guidence to help out...

Kae rushes over to the window she knocked out earlier, and leans out. She gives a laugh of exultation as she feels the wind catch her hair and glances down to the clouds below. This is fun.

Grinning gleefully, she takes aim with an extended forefinger and looses a blast at the driver of the pursuing skycab.

[sblock=OOC]Ranged Touch Atack: 1d20+3 = 13

which is a miss if I remember rightly. Curse that guy's high Dex, or whatever it is that's giving him so much touch AC.[/sblock]

( JR, I do not have any ranks either, but check this text from the SRD, " Untrained
If you have no ranks in Handle Animal, you can use a Charisma check to handle and push domestic animals, but you can’t teach, rear, or train animals. A druid or ranger with no ranks in Handle Animal can use a Charisma check to handle and push her animal companion, but she can’t teach, rear, or train other nondomestic animals.

Zook looks nervously around, hes never been good with animals and has no meaningful spells left for this situation. He stands with Kae and fires off his acid splash, mostly in desperation at the man with the wand and it flies off in an odd direction.

Acid splash, touch attack, damage (1d20+2=10, 1d3=1)

You can use a Charisma check, untrained, to handle or push animals.
You only need to be trained to raise, tame, or train the animals.

Kae and Zook have only one possible target right now: the driver.
None of the bad guys and lean out and shoot until it's their turn.

Both of them, however, hit.
Kae, roll your eldritch blast damage.

On his turn, a shifter with a bright red beard leans out of the door, leaning against a rope harness.
He howls madly and fires two shots from a repeating crossbow at the skycab. The bolts glow red and leave smoke trails as one misses the skycab completely. The other thunks soundly into the wood and explodes with a muffled crump.

The back of the carriage, already damaged, is now smouldering and crazed with cracks. Another hit like that will almost certainly blow a hole in the back of the skycab. That would probably be bad.

Bharag is up.
