Here's the slowest advancing of the top 44:
PC Creation date approx months/lvl XPs
Thurgan 8/25/2003 14 9,015
Devlin 8/25/2003 14 8,040
ao'Thuir 10/5/2003 14 6,559
Strum 10/17/2003 13 6,450
Irene 2/17/2004 12 6,388
Jack 6/2/2004 11 7,224
Oirhandir 6/2/2004 11 6,205
Scun 7/5/2004 11 8,928
Troi 8/25/2003 11 11,198
Razh 7/6/2004 11 9,477
Sara 9/5/2003 10 10,463
Ogrin 7/15/2004 10 9,953
Rurik 10/18/2003 10 10,914
Ironwolf 9/3/2004 10 6,031
Tor 9/5/2004 10 6,847
Almayce 9/28/2004 10 6,207
So ao'Thuir is only the third slowest. Thurgan (& the others in Red) have been out of action to various degrees due to player inactivity. It's very difficult to really pinpoint how slowly a PC advances. Actually, Since Devlin has more XPs, he and ao'Thuir are about tied, I reckon. As far as I know, Devlin's always been actively seeking or engaging in adventure.
The average of the 44 is 9. Thus for these long-lived and successful PCs, it has taken an average of 9 months per level to advance. This is probably on the high side, since a number of them have been inactive. The average, though, is clearly higher than 6 months, which is what I see as ideal.
