“…who have no limits to their powers.”

Certainly sounds like a D&D wizard to me…:).
It's a weird thing in the comics because it isn't about level but about potential, like how Jean is an omega-level telepath but Charles Xavier isn't even though he's probably a 20th level character, and Jean Grey is maybe around 14th level.

What spell will she be casting? It looks so... anime-style.
It seems the anime-fantasy style art is here to stay…
If only. There’s nothing anime about it. Unless you stretch the definition to include glowing sigils in the air as “anime art.” Which is not exclusive to anime. Dr Strange has it.

I don't read comics, and only know Dr. Strange from the recent film.

But surely, I must have gotten my impression from somewhere...

The "protection dome" is ubiquitous in a lot of the anime I have seen.

Now if you wanna go on about how based on all the other sources you know of, it is a universal trope not exclusive to anime...

Ok, that's fine; but my impression wasn't just pulled out of thin air either.

Not to mention hilarious! :ROFLMAO:

Which is what I liked about it. D&D shouldn't always take itself seriously.

Well, it removes blindness, which is vision so poor you cannot see. It seems reasonable to me that it would also handling simply "less than normal" vision as well. Since it also handles deafness, probably helps there, too.

Your interpretation may differ, but that is mine.

You do know that telling people that wear glasses is basically the same thing as being blind is not the greatest, right? B-)

If you want to go with merely anime inspired, or even say that it's a universal trope now long distanced from its origins...

Ok, I won't quibble.

That seems to be Y'shtola, the best NPC from Final Fantasy XIV, so not anime, though it is Japanese.

But protective force bubble certainly is pretty ubiquitous visual, and I doubt it originated from anime.
