Rodrigo made no effort to retrieve the light coin. If they had to leave and for some reason the plank wasn't an option, the light would be very useful... that and getting soaked in stagnant sea water wasn't very appealing....

Dellrak returns to his rear guard crossbow load and in hand. He forlornly looks back at the other coin glowing at the base of the pool.

*sigh*

Legend
The tunnel begins to climb once more, eventually coming to a split; one path leads briefly down, going under a large hard rock in the ceiling, the other, probably newer, path going relatively wide and flat. (The newer path clearly created when someone decided to put some money into improving the tunnel's difficult access. The older tunnel appears to be less-traveled.

The Nameless motioned to the others to stay back momentarily and crept forward to look and then slip under the low ceiling and see what could be seen beyond.

Miss Imogen crosses the board carefully, water moistening the soles of her boots, but not seeping through. She contemplates suggesting simply breaking the board, since there will always be another way out, but she doesn't know enough of the situation to offer that yet. Instead, she congratulates Nameless on solving the problem for them all, and falls into line.

Nameless seems intent on being the scout. Miss Imogen, with her human eyesight, is fine with that. She has him covered, bow in hand.

OOC: I thought of using a hand axe to cut into the board a bit, not to deep, down along the middle. But thought we might be the ones being chased not the chasers.

Dellrak takes up a guarded position watching down the tunnel with his darkvision. The nameless one is more gray than usual as the dwarf watches his back.

FitzTheRuke

Legend
Nameless drops down below the large rock in the ceiling and discovers that the two paths converge again not too far ahead - it seems that the path he is on, dips steeply down and then back up again, making it a short but difficult path, while the larger flatter path goes much further around the large rock - a longer, but easier path. He sees no-one.

Rodrigo listens intently but aside from Dellrack's breathing, and the soft squelching of everyone's boots, the coils are silent.

OOC: The long, flat path has torches, the short dipping path does not (aside from at both ends - it gets dark at the deepest point.)

Rodrigo thanks the Nameless one for the intel

"This looks like a great spot for an ambush. A few of us hide down there, let them pass, then hit them from the rear as the rest hit the front...

... of course we still don't know if there are other forks ahead, so we may have to press on... but my gut tells me they will pass here, based on the plank position and the presence of guards in two spots - why bother if you aren't going pass this way?"
