The gand continues to roll-scramble, dropping off a 5' pyramid step to the left of the thing and firing right into the lizard-thing's vulnerable side and underbelly!

[sblock=Actions]Fire at Sssurian in melee combat with Pistoleer:
Su, su Ssurian. O-oh-oooh.: 1D20+8 = [14]+8 = 22; 3D8+8 = [5, 2, 2]+8 = 17
1D20+8 = [13]+8 = 21; 3D8+8 = [6, 5, 4]+8 = 23
1D20+8 = [4]+8 = 12; 3D8+8 = [2, 5, 2]+8 = 17

Dead with the first two shots, I think!

Move to hand to hand range with the second Ssurian, if possible please, trying to attract its attention away from Jihahna with the third shot and a mighty shout! (that last one doesn't work too well since his/her vocoder is actually still set on 'whisper' :))[/sblock]

Trapped as she is, Kacela tries to slash her lightsabers at the claws and wrists of the huge creature. It's clearly wounded, it might not take too much more pain to convince it to let go!

[roll0] attack, for [roll1] damage, and [roll2] attack, for [roll3] damage.

OOC: Ok all... be ready for some nice rolls. Got a crit and a decent second roll too... I think the Rancor is dead after this.

Jihahna was dazed from the sudden pain that had taken hold.... This didn't happen to her often. The old bounty hunters voice kicked in through her blurred vision as she saw the Rancor gripping Kacela. 'Get up you foolish girl. Push through the pain. You can stop fighting when you're DEAD!'/I]

With that, Jihahna snapped out of it as she looked about at the enemies surrounding the party. She saw the Gand swiftly end his or her own threat with speed and grace. She could see the Jedi were carving great slices into the Rancor, but Kacela was in danger. That was NOT okay.

But she saw the threat in front of her first. It HAD to be removed. She took a calming breath, then with a smooth grace of her own, Jihahna took a step back, exposing an opportunity to the beast for an attack. Whether it struck true or not, Jihahna wasn't concerned. She didn't initially feel anything as she focused on what would happen next. As the creature moved, towards her, she began countering it with a well placed parry, exposing the nape of its neck, directly in alignment with the barrel of her rifle. The shot would enter between the ribs and strike the heart directly. A flash of light, followed by a whimper, the creature fell to the ground.

She then raised her blaster calmly to the Rancor and began walking towards it, calmly assessing her target. Once again, she saw a vulnerability, it had twisted its head in pain, exposing the divots which looked to be its... Reptilian?... Yeah, probably.... Its reptilian ears. Lined up the shot, hoping there was no bone blocking a bolt that could enter directly into its brain. In theory... then hide of the beast would be stretched thinner over bone in that location... Time to find out... This would either kill it, or make it angrier...

Cal shot at the huge mutant monster again but missed! Jihahna moves back away from the lizard-cat thing, while this Gand blasted the creature on it and knocked it over dead. S/he then moved down the stairs to move towards where Jihahna and Targo were facing the other creature. Then Kacela stashed into the huge monster that was holding her and the thing seemed to moan in pain. Jihahna then moved away from the creature's wild slashed tail and moving towards the pyramids blasted it twice, killing it!!! Reks moved closer to the huge creature and threw one of his lightsabers at the creature but missed. The saber then looped around in the air and returned to the Jedi's hand.

The wounded creature reared up then and let out of terrible roar, so loud that dust fell from the ceiling and the walls of the nearby pyramids shock. The heroes were shocked to their very core by the sound of this roar!!

GM: Initiative
Cal – 24
Jihahna – 20
Mutant Rancor & Mutant Ssaurian – 19
Mutant Ssaurian – 12
This Gand & Targo – 11
Kacela & Reks – 10

[sblock=Rolls]Cal shots and misses the Rancor

Jihahna moves out of combat away from mutant Ssaurian, who gets an OA, OA vs. Jihahna, damage if it hits: 1D20+9 = [5]+9 = 14; 2D8+9 = [7, 1]+9 = 17, misses. She then blasts it twice killing it!!!

This Gand hits Ssaurian #2 with his/her first two attacks and kills that one also.

Kacela strikes into the Rancor twice for 15 and 14 damage (29 total, bring it down to 15 HP)

Reks moves 12m and throws his lightsaber again, Attack and damage if he hits: 1D20+8 = [4]+8 = 12; 2D8+7 = [8, 5]+7 = 20, a miss!! Use the Force skill check to call back lightsaber: 1D20+5 = [19]+5 = 24, succeeds regains his lightsaber

Targo uses his reaction to Ready and action for anymore monsters to appear

The Rancor uses its Frightful Roar attack vs. Will defense (with advantage): 2D20.HIGH(20)+6 = [2, 17]+6 = 25. EDIT effecting Cal, Kacela and Reks. And I did that wrong. It should have been a 17 +6 so a total of a 23

This ability has the following - Base success (meets or exceeds target’s Will Defense) – the target gains the Frightened condition against the rancor and cannot take Reactions or Bonus actions until the start of the rancor’s next turn. If the test exceeds the target’s Will defense by +5 the target also has its Move speed reduced by ½ until the start of the rancor’s next turn. If the test exceeds the target’s Will defense by +10 the target is at Disadvantage to all attack, skill and trait rolls it takes (not just those against the Rancor) until the starts of the rancor’s next turn.

Remember the Frightened conditions means that you are at Disadvantage to any attack, skill and ability checks vs. the creature that frightened you and you cannot approach it.

Will Defense of the Heroes
Cal - 17, beat by +6
Kacela - 20 (with ignited lightsaber) beat by +3
Reks - 18 with ignored lightsaber, beat by +5

Player’s Actions for Round 3??[/sblock]

[sblock=Conditions]Cal 62/62 - Frightened
Jihahna 44/64
Kacela 33/66 - Frightened
This Gand 50/66
Reks 70/70 - Frightened
Targo 21/21

Rancor 15/101
Ssaurian #1 0/48 dead
Ssaurian #2 0/48 dead[/sblock]

Nope, Cal thought as the terrifying roar cut straight to his marrow. He considered running, but felt nearly rooted to the spot. Instead, he hoped probability would finally be in his favor and fired at the creature again, hoping to free Kacela in the process.

OOC: Move Action: Take Aim, not that I think it has cover
Action: Attack - Worse of [roll0] or [roll1], Damage [roll2]

Blaster Sniper Rifle (w/PBS), Ranged +7, 3d10+7, Ammo: 27/30, Range: 60/600 (600/1200 w/Aim)

On the plus side, being at disadvantage due to being frightened means that shooting into melee isn't as much of a problem without the Precise Shot feat.

OOC: That sucks, it screwed the rolls up since I triggered the post timer. Stupid...

Attack - Worst of [roll0] or [roll1], Damage - [roll2]

Finally...

Shaken badly, Cal still managers to blast the giant creature causing it to almost whimper in pain and it topples over backwards, dead!!! The echo of its roar seems to linger for a second or two before the huge chamber returns to silence...

GM: Combat over, actions??

AS the creature toppled over, Cal activated his commlink. "Anyone need treatment?" he asked. "If not, we better move out. The noise was likely to give us away."

The gand nods quiet but heartfelt agreement.

Ignoring the poisoned wound on its leg, it starts trotting up the road towards the light, body tense and weapon at the ready. (Its hands - and clicketting voice - are still slightly shaking from that last encounter...)

clack gutural jumble clicketty slurr "All three of these ones were modified for war," her artificial female voice 'whispers' with a sweeping gesture to the two saurians and the rancor. slur jumble drone whirr clacketty drone-clack mumble click "The sith may have gained control of the defences of this place?"

OOC: I'm assuming Thirteen and the slaved battle droid are with us by the point, right? Move up the road, please. When it looks like he/she might be able to get a look at the light ahead, quietly climb another pyramid to try and see.

GM: Yes both are there. The 'slave droid' will not really do anything unless given an order (which takes an Action).

Re-climbing the highest step pyramid nearby, this Gand can just barely make out the top of a bluish crystal like structure maybe half a kilometer deep into the massive chamber. There are more pyramid like buildings somewhat blocking this Gand's view (so that s/he can only see the top of it, but it must be huge to be able to see it from so far away).
