what was it she tasted? It was sweet and sophisticated.... Her eyes widened in surprise... "Correlian brandy!" She mused... Smiling at her friend."This Gand has excellent taste"
A grateful dip of the head. jumble whirr clack "For emergencies."

Somehow... shy? Pleased maybe?

---

The tension in the air is getting palpable at this point.

jumble drone clicketty mumble clacketty jumble click "Can Jihahna Darut move the droid up the stairs?" The gand is obviously loathe to give up their ambush advantage... AND leaning towards the pyramid at the same time, as if her booted feet are literally itching to run across the no-man's land.

[sblock=OOC]If the droid can't climb up the step pyramid OR the climbing garners no reaction, the gand will move a ways right, away from the entrance, then run straight across the no man's land to the side of the glowing pyramid before making his/her way back towards the entrance along the wall.

I'm assuming the big pyramid is too steep/smooth to easily climb up the sides, right?[/sblock]

Kacela smiles, clearly pleased with the results she had. "Listening to the Force, feeling it...it is a skill I have practiced for a long time now. And no, droids are not alive in the way we are; the Force cannot see them, nor they it. As for emotions..." she looks away, trying to think of words to use.

"It's exactly that the Force amplifies emotions. Rather, through the Force all living things are one. To feel the Force is to feel that connection, and that connection includes emotions...thoughts...knowledge. One of the dangers that the Jedi train to deal with is losing oneself in the Force...having the line between 'self' and 'other' thin too much. But that isn't why the Jedi Code teaches us to abandon passion."

"That is because passion, the force of unrestrained, indiscriminate emotion, can command the Force but without the discernment and wisdom of our mind. Imagine every time you might have, in a fit of frustration, wished someone dead...only to have that fleeting, vindictive wish come true. Imagine the chaos. The horror."

Kacela shakes her head. "That is an extreme example, but it illustrates the point. One who has the power to feel the Force, to move it to their will, has a great responsibility. It requires constant discipline, to ensure that we do not misuse that gift."

Jihahna nods at this Gand with a smile. "I'm happy to try..."

She activates her coms to command the droid. "Continue previous order, but deviate up the stairs"

She turns again to Kacela... "So then, falling to the dark side... It's not always entirely voluntary? It must be rough sometimes... To have everything fall apart like that?"

Jihahna looks ahead as she ponders.

Cal tried his best to tune out all the talk about philosophy and mystical power. While he knew it was a very real thing, the logistics behind it weren't all that interesting to him at the moment. Holding up his sniper blaster, he used his scope to try to pick out any opponents.

The droid started up the stairs. Its ungainly legs made the going hard but it made it to the top within a few moments. As it made the top several large labor droids appeared from the tunnel and started attacking it.

OOC: LaborDroid.jpg

except they are painted black

GM: I don't remember if you had ordered the droid to attack anything. If you did it probably would blast one of the droids that just appeared but there are a total of 6 and they all attack and will destroy the jury rigged droid in a round...Actions?

EDIT This Gand and Cal can fire at the Droids if they want. They are 100 meters away. Or you could set off the explosives if you want. The jury rigged droid will NOT last more then a round against them.

The gand, primed, reflexively opens up, taking down one of the large droids before he winces: discretion might have been the better part of valor here... "Apologies."

OOC: Do these look like Sith or Kwa designs, GK?

"Falling to the Dark Side is a choice," Kacela says, dropping her voice as the droid climbs. "Someone who does harm by accident doesn't suddenly fall. Only by succumbing to the temptation to put your desires over the well-being of those around you...and yourself...do you walk that path."

Her eyes narrow as the Sith droids appear, and she moves her lightsaber hilt in front of her, ready to ignite in an instant if needed.

"Cal," she says, "Do we need that droid as more than bait?"

(action depends on response; basically, she's just asking if she needs to engage right now...I seem to recall it being rigged to explode? :))

As the black droids appear, this Gand double tabs one causing it to explode and fall over. The others moved towards the jury-rigged droid and proceed to tear it appear in a matter of seconds... as they do this it appears that the droids are moving back to the tunnel and out of line of sight...

GM: Cal can still shot at one if he wants. They are 100 meters away. Next round they will be out of sight. You could also set the explosives off BEFORE they move away but up to you

Sighting through his scope, Cal observed the droid getting hacked apart. Responding to Kacela and Jihahna, he said, "It's not going to be much use to us in a few seconds, might as well give it a purpose and detonate."

He closed his eye in anticipation of the blast, preparing to fire at any droids left standing.
