The gand's reaction is a burst of - delighted? - buzzing, reddish eyes drinking-in the incredible scene. guttural clicketty long-whirr hum "From here, these ones could walk anywhere."

Regaining some of her composure, she questioningly points the other left and right along the side-walls...

OOC: Leave time for the others to move if they want to, then:

... then ratchets up her vocoded voice to its safe maximum: slur mumble, sharp-Clack "Friendly greetings, Sith soldiers." guttural clack jumble whirr click "This humble one would like to talk."

[sblock=Actions]Int roll to figure out anything about how this room works, even something so simple as where the 'passengers are supposed to step or where the controls are: Weird science: 1D20+2 = [4]+2 = 6. REALLY poor rolls so far this year! :(

Are there any other exits, either in the walls, down through the floor or into the 'buildings', GK?[/sblock]

There is silence within the room for a few moments while the sphere continues to 'power up'? This also happens relatively silently. When the team is being to think maybe they were going to remain quite a loud voice shouts back (some somewhere closer to the sphere in the jumble of structures surrounding it) "WORDS ARE FOR THE WEAK. SURRENDER NOW AND WE WILL ALLOW YOU TO WITNESS THE END OF YOUR PATHETIC REPUBLIC!!!" the voice echoes through the chamber before finally fading back to silence.

"Gratitude," politely replies the gand. (There is a short pause as it holds a hand in the direction it believes the voice is coming from, a questioning cant of its chitinous head directed at the others on either side...) slur guttural clicketty hum whirr jumble, slow-mumble clacketty click "Could this one possibly suggest the Sith might not be in a position of strength right now?"

[sblock=Actions] Trying to pinpoint the location of his/her opposite. This is assuming the others did spread out a little bit so they can triangulate?

Don't know exactly what to roll for that, but assuming Perception (Aural): 3D sound scape: 1D20+5 = [11]+5 = 16[/sblock]

Jihahna approached, calmly readying herself for action. Standing close to this Gand, she wanted to be ready to protect her.

Not long ago, she would have thought it pointless trying to talk an enemy into submission... But now she liked it. She supposed that like this Gand calling himself expendable, he/she must look upon words in a similar fashion. Why not try to use them if they're free to use and plentiful? It was also exonerating. "whether we're right or wrong, at least we're trying to do the right thing'

She looked down at her short friend. She now seemed taller than Jihahna first remembered. With a smile, she looked about in the darkness. She said only a short rebuttal before allowing this Gand to continue. "When words are free, their strength or weakness is irrelevant, don't you think? But attempting to point out the weakness of another while hiding in the shadows seems a little..."She pauses a moment, allowing the Sith to fill in the gap with their own logic. The last word Jihahna had on the tip of her tongue was 'hypocritical', but she held it back, instead finishing with another word, "Rude"..... With that, she simply waited for others amongst her to react, an observer for now.... She wondered what Kacela and Reks would say....

Cal didn't bother speaking, he simply spread out as the Gand had gestured, focusing his highly honed senses to picking out where their opponents were in the room.

OOC: Perception - Better of [roll0] or [roll1]

This Gand thought the voice had come from somewhere close to the floating sphere but s/he was not sure 100%.

No additional shouts came from below in reply to either this Gand or Jihahna...

Cal got the idea that the voice came from fairly close to the floating sphere in the middle of the chamber... probably from the other side (opposite of the stairwell down).

The chamber remained silent and no movement could be seen. The strange strobe lightning effect did throw the rooms shadows in crazy random patterns though making it hard to really make out much...

GM: See OOC thread for secret rolls :) Also crude map

(OOC - Would it be possible for Kacela to try to sense through the Force what ritual is being conducted, and whether or not she can try to interfere with it?)

GM: I think it would be closer to the Supernatural skill (Star Wars version of the Arcane skill). You could maybe use Search your Feelings or Sense Force too get a general idea and/or clues.

Jihahna looks to Cal moving away. Then remembers the Gands gesture to spread out. She frits her teeth and nods in slight embarrassment that she had somehow missed that gesture, a reminder of the strategy she believed had harped on about earlier, to spread out in case the sith had any powers that could take out multiple opponents. She looked at this Gand a little apprehensively, before nodding to him and fanning out, opposite to Cal trying to keep in view of everyone... She begins speaking once more.... hoping to act as bait to the sith in hiding with her next actions, but at the same time, failing that, she would have had the time she needed to complete another strategy.

She took out her slicing kit and as casually as possible, plugged it into the com-link inside the back of her helmet before she continued speaking to them:

"Or maybe words are expensive for you all, seeing as you lack a willingness to speak at present... But why would you hide AND call us weak at the same time? There are two possibilities I can think of. Either A. You wish to wait for the opportune moment to ambush us... Or B. You're only a minute or two away from the completion of your silly little ritual..."

With that, she activated the kit, listening about for her enemies.

OOC:

Making a slicing roll to broadcast loud static from her helmet to all other comms in the area. Her hope being as before, that these Sith were using comms on the same channel as the troops they commanded.

_: 2D20.HIGH(1)+1 = [16, 9]+1 = 17

(Soz, that's actually a total score of 20. I used +1 instead of Jihahna's +4)

As the rest of the team spread out on the landing above the chamber, Cal started down the stairwell, attempting to move quietly. However the ground was covered in some sort of dirt that crunched under his feet. Suddenly a two bolts of blaster from below shot out; one blowing a hole in the ledge next to Cal the other barely deflected off of the scout's armor he was wearing!!!

Cal and this Gand see a dark skinned Human with a blaster carbine taking cover behind one of the pillars below...

GM: [sblock=Rolls]Double attack (with advantage because of surprise); damage if he hits: 2D20.HIGH(1)+7 = [7, 8]+7 = 15; 3D8+8 = [5, 1, 7]+8 = 21
2D20.HIGH(1)+7 = [14, 2]+7 = 21; 3D8+8 = [7, 1, 8]+8 = 24
, both miss (by 1 on the second shot)

Initiative!!! Bad Guys...
The Dark Lady Initiative: 1D20+7 = [16]+7 = 23
Malonnu Initiative: 1D20+1 = [16]+1 = 17
Gall Hsloth Initiative: 1D20+1 = [12]+1 = 13
Parlex Dornith Initiative: 1D20+3 = [13]+3 = 16
Sith Mark III Light Battle Droid Initiative: 1D20+6 = [5]+6 = 11[/sblock]

Player's need to roll Initiative please (group Initiative as always). Parlex Droith is the one you can see (posting in the Rogue's Gallery now). He has cover so +2 Reflex (24) right now. Everyone will be able to see him when you can act unless he drops back behind full cover first.
