After a moment more, Ripnek turns his gaze away from Karok and faces Saashala.

"Ripnek already said that. Orc is weak."

With that, the bugbear turns to move away from them to join the hobgoblin.

Normally, he would let insults role off his back. He'd done it before. But this was more than an insult. He needed to be respected. He needed to show them that he was no ordinary orc.

The wind rippled around Karok, lifting him in the air as his eyes flashed in anger. He flew back 10 feet, hovering 2 feet off the ground, swirling his hand. With a thrust and a word, three bolts of fall lighting flew from his fingertips and launched at the Bugbear.

OOC: Magic Missiles, all three going to Ripnek. Damage: [roll0] + [roll1] + [roll2]

Ripnek turned to face the orc just as the magic slammed into him, shaking his body and beating him down. And then, it was over. He was still alive.

With murder in his eyes, the bugbear looks at the still hovering Karok. "No fair," he says simply before averting his eyes. Ripnek sits down on the ground and starts rubbing his sore muscles.

Karok touched down, allowing the winds to die down to normal levels.

"We will proceed," he said, as if nothing had happened. The bugbear was cowed, and the others had seen a bit of his power. That was all he had wanted.

Still, as he turned to lead them through the mountains, he expected some kind of retaliation, and kept the words to another spell on his lips, just in case.

It takes about two and a half minutes to reach a spot in the mountain where the path forward is blocked by a sizable foothill of rock. Karok heads around to the left, and Moon Moon to the right. Neither of them particularly notice the other, as they each appear to be assuming the rest of the group is following them to "the crossing." But the rest of you see them each confidently head off in directions that will be drastically different by the time they get past this part of the mountain.

OOC: As for the Magic Missile... Perhaps Gruumsh approves of this working-together thing? :)

Saashala clears her throat and calls, "Karok. Moon Moon. A moment."

"You're going in different directions. Lets see if we can solve this without magically blasting one another this time?"

Nert grumbled to himself as he cleared the blood from the infighting then followed the group.

When moonmoon and Karoc split up he says angrily from the back, " No, no, only one path" then finishes under his breath, "Silly bigs, always so easy to follow."
