(Krik takes 2 dmg from the kruthik's poky aura)
The scimitar comes free, slinging a dark arc of ichor as it does. The large kruthik collapses in a shuddering twitching heap.
Lady Mishet rushes forward, her hand outstretched toward the young lord,
"Lehrik! You forget your duty!"
At the Lady's words, the dwarf retainer, firms his resolve and trundles forward swinging a fierce attack at the kruthik. It hunches instinctively and the blade whistles over it harmlessly.
(Round 7 begins)
Gutwick scurries forward, a determined look on his gnarled goblin features. His swing misses as he slips on gooey kruthik blood leaking from the corpse at his feet. The kruthik's mandibles clatter. If kruthik were smart enough to laugh, that's what it would sound like.
The dragonborn laborer, panting, struggles forward, he swings his dagger at the kruthik, but his eyes lose focus and the kruthik twitches out of danger with mounting alarm as large foes encircle it.
Lehrik's temper gets the best of him,
"Sit still, vermin!" Heedless of Lady Mishet's admonitions that he not endanger His Magesty, he attacks, landing a solid blow that ends the kruthik's evasion decisively. He hisses slightly at the new wounds inflicted by proximity to the foul creature.
Korask nods in approval. "You, go for help," he points at the dragonborn laborer who snarls in frustration at leaving the battle, but nods in acquiesence and turns to go. Korask moves up and deals an almost dismissive stab of his javeling at kruthik near Heskrash.
A palpable relief settles over the group as Korask kicks the twitching remains of the last kruthik in the immediate area off of the end of his spear.
Heskrash notices something strange. There seem to be fewer shard fragments here than there were earlier.
The moment of relief and realization is shattered by the piercing howl that blasts from the dark shape moving against the light of the sunstone shard ahead.
