Song will gingerly place his belongings into the chest, with the exception of his bow, arrows, and tiger fork, which he will lean against the wall. Before sleeping, he drinks deeply from his waterskin and says a number of prayers.

Song suddenly awakes in the middle of the nightwhile Shang and Bi are deeply asleep. The cleric thinks he may have just heard hurried steps under their window and in front of their door...

Song springs awake, concerned about the noise. Unsure of how to alert his comrades, Song reaches into his bag, taking up two taels and flicking one onto Bi and the other onto Shang. That done, he listens intently, one hand reaching down carefully and quietly to grab his tiger fork, the other making a prayer symbol over his chest.

Song is relieved to find his items where he put it, but starts to be concerned again, as the thrown taels are insufficient to wake the others...

His comrades still asleep, Song watches the door is slided quietly open by a very pallid hand with clawlike fingernails.
