The time for talking was past, now he would let his sword speak for him. Striking out at the nearest pirate, Justice slashes the man savagely while maneuvering to try and keep them from flanking him.

Maighan surveys the scene from the aft of the ship, her brows knitted together in confusion. From here she can see what's happening, but not hear or gain context. That said, she knows the men of her ship, and the men of the other. For now the armored man would be counted friendly.
She put arrow to nock and drew, closing her eyes for few seconds to concentrate on the play of air over her. Then she opened her eyes, adjusted aim, and loosed.
(OOC - Arrowed! Targeting either the captain, or if he's too far or has cover, the closest enemy crew who is not covered or entangled. [roll0] to hit for [roll1] damage)
She put arrow to nock and drew, closing her eyes for few seconds to concentrate on the play of air over her. Then she opened her eyes, adjusted aim, and loosed.

Nissa's distraction gives Aedon the time he needs to get off his spell. One of the pirates falls dead before he finishes his first step, bits of dry, frostbitten skin peeling from his lifeless face. The second pirate pauses, but has already committed his actions, and presses the wizard with his scimitar. Garrison rushes in to help, but is too late as the pirate opens a small cut in Aedon's leg.
J'hanna stops a pirate in his tracks. She draws first blood, injuring the man's off-hand. He responds with an attack of his own, but is unable to get around her armor.
Justice opens a serious wound in one of the pirates, but the man is still able to coordinate a flanking routine with his partner. Before he has a chance to strike, however, an arrow explodes through his chest and he falls to the ground gurgling through his last breath. The second pirate tries to take advantage of the distraction, but is unable to land a decent blow. Justice sees both of the snared pirates manage to escape their entanglements and finally board the ship. They both approach the elven archer that just saved him.
Jon and his men continue to flood the deck with pirate blood, even as the ship itself begins to succumb to the flames. Those pirates that manage to escape the his blades take their chances with the ocean, preferring its depths to the savagery aboard the burning ship.
