As the huge Gourgaz approaches from the black ship, Moon's Brand lets fly an arrow. The reptilian brute casually deflects the projectile with his steel axe. Meanwhile, Jesabela swings feet-first into the creature, dealing it a blow just under its jawline. Spittle flies as the Gourgaz rocks slightly and thuds backwards on the deck, knocked down by the force of the pirate's blow. As it falls, a massive crack roars out and with a flash, the creature howls in pain as a bullet from Hoagar's rifle strikes it. Stunned, the Gourgaz gets back up on its feet.

 

[Krug]

Hoagar reloads his rifle and shoots at the creature again. "Get yer face full of lead!"

 

[Paido]

Still reeling from the impact herself, but quickly recovering, Jesabela throws a mighty, two-handed stroke at the stunned beast's hamstring, as if it were a hawser threatening to drag a storm-shaken ship to it's doom ...

Andrew, have no dice at hand right now. Have to leave my IN roll to you, as it seems.

 

[Relenoir]

Cursing her easily deflected shot, Moon's Brand forces the frustration from her mind as she fluidly draws another arrow and fires again, cautious to aim for the Gourgaz's upper body and away from Jesabela. "Block this, fiend!" she mutters through clenched teeth as the arrow whistles towards her opponent.
Andrew: What's Davias doing during all of this?

As the Gourgaz struggles to rise, Moon's Brand lets fly an arrow. The white-fletched missile flies into the fleshy part of the Gourgaz's upper arm. It howls in pain, and, seizing her chance, Jesabela dives in to hack at the lizard-beast's leg. The massive reptile manages to pull its leg back out of range of the pirate's blade, but he is not quick enough to avoid a second shot from Hoagar's rifle. The spiteful reptile glances between the dwarf and the pirate lass, and brings its black axe around to hit Jesabela. The pirate is sent reeling.

Relenoir: I actually forgot completely about Davias. Umm, the Drakkarim assault is causing him to cower uselessly in the cabin below. Yeah, that sounds good.

 

[Krug]

Hoagar reloads his musket and fires at the Gourgaz again. "Taste some of this!"

 

[Relenoir]

Moon's Brand knocks another arrow, keeping a close eye on Jesabela in the event that she is hurt worse than she seems. She fires at the Gourgaz yet again.

 

[Paido]

Backpedaling from the monster, Jesabela grabs a rope and climbs up into the rigging as fast as she can. No way I stay down there as lizard-bait. I didn't hire on as soldier!

Moon's Brand grits her teeth, and lets fly an arrow as she keeps a careful eye on Jesabela. With almost monkey-like agility, the piratess clambers up into the rigging of the ship. Once again, Hoagar levels the musket with his eye and lets loose a shot. And once more, it finds a home in the monster's flesh. The creature howls in rage and its massive axe hurtles towards the dwarf. Hoagar backs up, but not swiftly enough - he is dealt a glancing blow from the iron axe.

Glancing over briefly to assure herself that her friend isn't badly injured, Moon's Brand takes aim with another arrow. "Tougher to block without a weapon!" she cries as she releases it towards her foe, a smirk on her face at the Gourgaz's foolish action of throwing away its hand weapon. After firing, she takes a brief glance about to see how the rest of the combat on the ship is going. Now would be a great time for Jesabela to let fly some of those daggers she always has on her! she thinks to herself. Hope she's alright. . .
