Lem realizes the jig is up, and he definitely doesn't like how that boggard priest-king has gotten a bit too close to the artifact the cook is guarding. "Oh no you don't... get back!"

OOC: Having trouble with Real Life issues: work, insurance enrollment and holiday stuff hitting at the same time. Hope to an update Friday night, and this fight will basically wrap up the adventure. Sorry for the delays.

Cave Battle Round 1

And with that, general combat begins. Jacobson and Weylyn spring to action, moving to intercept Venzans who look likely to try to end run and attack Menik. Weylyn squares off against the warrior Sean Aloghersie, and hits him squarely. Meanwhile, Jacobson wordlessly cuts Alicia Novertia deftly. Whatever is between them, in combat Jacobson is a calm killing machine. Sean manages to miss his returns strikes, and Weylyn, but Alicia seems unable to get past Jacobson's shield with her dagger. Finally, Georgio Padwanis sails into the fight against Weylyn and does cuts him with his longsword for a minor wound.

Then, despite the initial aggression, the Priest King and his Champion back away from Lem, with the King withdrawing and the champion interceding to cover his leader. They head along the wall, leaving the RCC behind, and looking at the party distrustfully, but not attacking.

Round 1 (PCs+WhiteCloaks): Lem hits the Priest King for 40 points of damage, all told.
Jacobson moves to intercept Alicia, hitting for 9 damage.
Weylyn moves to intercept Sean, hitting for 13 damage.
Menik casts Feeblemind on Giovanni.

Round 1 (Venzans): Giovanni makes the save vs Feeblemind (required a good roll with the -4). He casts fireball set on intersection L-M,11-12, managing to get Weylyn, Jacobson and Menik, but narrowly missing his own people and Macabee. It's not certain if he can see Macabee or not. Fireball does 31, DC 16 Reflex Save to take half (15). Weylyn and Jacobson both make their saves, Jacobson suffering no damage and Weylyn 15.
Sean attacks Weylyn twice and misses.
Alicia attacks Jacobson twice and misses.
Georgio attacks Weylyn and hits once, doing 4 damage.

Round 1 (Boggards): The Priest King withdraws away from Lem, his Champion and the extra Boggard closing in and readying actions.

"Ouch!" For once, Menik has to try to dodge a sudden huge ball of flame, instead of casting it. This is ... not good.

As my assault on his mind failed, perhaps his body will be an easier target ...

Menik casts another spell, and large black tentacles erupt from the cave floor, encircling the enemy wizard.

Cast black tentacles centered on the enemy wizard (K5), which should be able to also catch Alicia and Sean in its area but not Jacobson or Weylyn.
