M3: Tenebrynn and Ashnar (Patlin judging)

In the morning, the various groups converge in the common room for breakfast. Glimpses are caught of each other in the halls and by the outhouse as well. The food is good, and the same boys dash around providing prompt, polite service. James is 12, with long blond hair held back in a pony tail. Balmir wears his long black hair back as well. He is a little older, but smaller. They are joined this morning by a young woman, Rillis, who is older still, about 17. She seems to be a favorite of the regulars, as she is very cute, and somewhat flirtatious. The morning fry cook is the bearded bartender from the night before. You come to know him as Glami. The midget and his friend come in about 8 o’clock. Wilfong, the gambler, arrives soon afterwards for his eggs. Another man shows up in the morning, and apparently also stays in the inn. He has long black hair, wears a black cape and a longsword at his waist. Tenebrynn, Nurlan, Mordik, Rinaldo, Ashnar, and Eanos are all present. Abraham the innkeeper isn't there.

Tenebrynn takes a table by himself and orders breakfast from James as he hurries around to the other tables. As he recieves his breakfast he asks James where one might find the mayor in Three Rings. Provided he gets a satisfactory answer he hands the young man an extra couple of coppers in tip.

James

"Ah, the mayor, sir? Arness is her name. She lives in the castle up the hill, just across the road. Can't miss it!" He smiles at the tip.

Thanking the young man, Tenebrynn will finish his breakfast, make small talk with those still there including Rinaldo and his group. Then head out for the day towards the castle up the hill.

Tenebrynn leaves the inn and takes a slow, but brief walk up to the castle. As he walks, he is able to observe the structure.

All castle walls and towers are made of a rough, gray stone. The outer curtain wall is twenty feet high and conceals the main building. The wall towers are fifteen feet in diameter and thirty feet high. The large interior tower is forty-five feet tall. The gatehouse is thirty feet high. It has three forward-facing arrow slits. The portcullis is down, and the two huge ironreinforced doors behind it are closed.

The outer portcullis is raised, and the elf is able to walk in, nervous under the murder holes. Two guards with halberts and longswords, wearing chainmail stand talking in front of the closed inner portcullis. They gaze at Tenebrynn suspiciously as he approaches.

Tenebrynn approaches the guards and stops a respectful distance from them to announce himself. "Greetings I am Tenebrynn Glimmersight from Orussus. I would like to make an appointment with the Mayor."

 

[Manzanita]

The guards stare at Tenebrynn briefly. Then one swaggers up to the elf. "What business you have with da mayor?"

"I would like the opportunity to speak with her regarding both trade opportunities as well as an audience with Prince Philip." replies Tenebrynn.

 

[Manzanita]

"Trade opportunities. Hmmm. Where you from & what's yer name? What kind of things you got to trade?"
