It's a strange pasttime I picked up while I was growing up. Never mind trying to run a game in/on all of the various land masses I created, I just found a type of Zen just by drawing the darn things.
Here's a map I drew over the course of two days. Mind the stitching!.
I think the paper size was somewhere in the neighborhood of 2'x3'. The actual land area I figured it out to be was somewhere in the size category of North America. I tried to populate the world, putting in all sorts of fantasy races, but nothing clicked for me.
Drawn as an alternative landscape for a Rokugan game.
The basic coastline I spent about five minutes drawing, and a design I made based on how the coastline looked actually made it into a local juried art show.
I have more I could put up, if anybody's interested (though these two are the two gems I have). Feedback is always welcome!
