Harper turns the volume on the scanner up just a little and then sits back and relaxes as he listens. Hopefully, if any curious neighbors call in to the Nazareth PD he'll hear the call before officers arrive and be able to warn the others.

Law's gunlight provides ample illumination. On the opposite end of the living room from the front door is a kitchen and a door that Law and Chance assume leads to the back yard. There are hallways leading left and right from the living room, each with several doors along their lengths. Finally, there's a short staircase beside the front door that leads downstairs.

Outside things don't look so good from Agnasci and Harper's perspective: It's going to be obvious to anyone looking out their windows that there are people with flashlights in the house. The scanner is quiet - it's a slow night for the Nazareth police department.

Chance, with a bit more experience being places she doesn't belong, sucks in a breath and claps her hand over the flashlight's lense.

"You want folks to call the police?" she asks softly. "Gimme that."

She breaks her fingers apart just a little bit, letting a dim, diffuse light through. It's not much, but with a minute or two to acclimate it ought to be enough to walk around without hitting anything. And it won't show in the windows nearly as much.

Law flinches a bit when Chance goes for his gun.

"Probably not a good idea to have your hand over the barrel of my gun. Here give me a sec."

Law takes a quick second to detach the light from the gun, he then hands it to Chance. At this time he will also cast Grim Sight.

Chance gives a nervous chuckle as she accepts the light.

"Sorry," she says. "Thought it was just a flashlight. Didn't see it was on your piece there."

She moves forward, squinting into the dim glow of the muffled light.

Chance feels the swell of magic as Law casts a spell. Law can't detect anything magical here, nor any particular stain of death. He and Chance clear the three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two hallway closets - all of it empty - until only the basement remains. The two mages descend the steps until reaching a landing about seven feet below the ground floor. Law opens the door and Chance shines the light in.

It's a large basement, extending most of the length of the house by the look of it. There's a water heater, fuse box, and air conditioning unit down here, as well as long rows of empty shelves. It seems Agnasci was right: Nothing much to report on.

Outside, Harper and Agnasci try to shrink out of sight as the headlights of a car appear at the end of the street. It's an old Ford Escort and it's slowly making its way to the end of the cul-de-sac. Law's light from inside 1505 has vanished and the two can only pray it doesn't reappear in the next few moments. The Escort pulls into the empty driveway of the house to the left of 1505 and seconds later an older man emerges, his face obscured by shadow. He stumbles toward his front door and disappears inside. Just someone getting home late. There's a sticker for a local bar, Cheney's, on the rear bumper of the Escort.

Law looks over to Chance,

"So should we chalk this up as another loss for the team and head back to Penrose. Can't believe that guy, sending us on burnt runs like this, guess he'll be happy to know no one is using the hallows for any reason. Both sites are completely barren. Until someone buys this house of course."

Law runs his hands through his hair, obviously unsettled by the lack of info to return to Penrose.

"We need to run you to where we ran into that... weird lady. Wait till you see her, it's hilarious the way she dresses. Then may"be finally we can all get some sleep. Balancing two lives like this is a bitch."

Harper continues his vigil over the police scanner. He hasn't heard anything relevant yet but still he'll listen. Hopefully Chance and Law will be done with their search soon and they can head back to Penrose's sanctuary to report. Not that they have much to report. Harper frowns and tries to figure out what the purpose of this search is from Penrose's point of view. Too soon he gives up the exercise; trying to figure out the enigmatic wizard is beyond his capability.
