"I'm going to check the inn a little better before we're off to business. Maybe I'll catch some useful information along the way. Oh, I usually do," the bard adds with a wink as he exits.

Baril takes a wooden club from the Irregulars' armory. Then he heads back to Hog's Back and talks to people there. Baril is especially interested in any rumors about the undead and the graveyard.

OOC: You've been paid 500 gp each by the Irregulars, and received a wand of cure light wounds. N.B.: This does not apply to Keros or Selene; the former was not involved in the initial delivery, the latter was already a member of the Irregulars.

Of course, they started with level-two gear :)

Actual post later this evening.

OOC: Arkan will find Zemala's well-stocked with... well, just about anything she's likely to need. Think of it as a 14th-century Cabela's or REI, but with access to magical items as well. There is an extensive backstory to Zemala's, which will eventually be revealed :)

Baril notes a generally somber tone about the Hog's Back. It's pretty obvious that the bartenders are feeling for the loss of their boss and friend, and that the regular patrons feel similarly. Though they are willing to talk, he hears little but talk that confirms what he's already heard: the undead are coming from the direction of the graveyard; there are both zombies and skeletons, generally in separate attack parties. Several persons, however, are spreading rumors that numerous bats have been sighted in the area--and that vampires may be around as well. Determining the veracity of this particular rumor is impossible.

Baril decides to pay a visit to the magic shop after the rumors about vampires possibly being involved. He'll inform the others about what he heard in case they also want to make some preparations.

OOC: Baril would like to purchase the following items if they are available at Zemala's
- 3 flasks of alchemist's fire -- 60 gp
- potion of protection from evil -- 50 gp
- potion of hide from undead -- 50 gp
- oil of bless weapon -- 100 gp
- 20 silver arrows -- 41 gp

Arkan

Arkan will pick up a warhammer from the irregulars. At Zemala's, she will purchase a masterwork chainshirt, and two vials of holy water. She'll also try to sell her current chainshirt.

Those of you who go to Zemala's will notice several odd things about the shop. First, it's open for business amidst the mostly deserted city. Second, there are two brilliantly glowing signs hanging in the windows; you suspect they are illusions, but can't tell for certain. The first announces, in block letters, "We Buy and Sell Magic!" The second, in a flowing script, appears to carry the store's motto: "Zemala's: The Plot Device with the Better Price!"

OOC: Any mundane or masterwork items under 500 gp in normal price can be found here for standard book prices. You might get a better deal going to the local armorer or weaponsmith--but not while they're hiding from or fighting the undead. Any magic items under 100 gp, or potions under 300 gp can also easily be found here. They generally do not carry scrolls, though you will find scroll inks. Other items above those prices may or may not be available--you'll have to check with the man behind the counter.

Did anyone else wish to do anything before prepping to meet the enemy? If not, I'll post this weekend and get you moving.

ooc: Grinder will probably make a quick shopping trip. I'm too tired to look through the item lists at the moment. Will try to get it done within the day. He'll also probably grab a club - or something similarly useful against undead - from the Irregular's stock.

Bellows Axegrinder makes his way down to Zemala's. The glowing signs are enough to warm his arcane heart. He gleefully peruses the wide range of magic items and finally settles on two potions of Cure Light Wounds and one oil of Magic Weapon. He makes a mental list of scrolls inks and other sundry items that he intends to return for after they've finished dealing with the undead infestation.
