Clockwise around the room from that door is a work bench and table. Various items litter the table's surface, a dagger, some cutting tools, pieces of wood, candles. You do recognize a few pieces of the summoning devices.
"Melted shut. Can you hear any noises from inside?" Keldar asks. "I wonder if he can hear us." He takes a look at the items on the work bench, in particular the tools, wondering whether they'll be of any use in getting the door open.

"Now I think there might be some tools downstairs at the forge which could help. Are we sure that no other elementals will be summoned in the meantime?"

"Could you all speak more quietly? With all the magic in this tower it's difficult to pick out specific aura. I need to concentrate," Tommy says, scowling.

Keldar returns to the sealed door. "Better let Thyrin know that we're here, and that we aren't fire elementals." He bangs on the metal with his morningstar. Once, three times, five times, seven times. Eleven times. And again. "There. He'll figure that out and be filled with hope and knock back. What's that you're saying, Tommy?"

"Wux thric sthyr, wux kosj, pothoc, thurgix, *ghontix*! Tommy growls through gritted teeth.

[sblock=Tommy: ]Next to the welded shut door, in the wall, Tommy sees the source of the minor abjuration aura he detected downstairs. Coupled with that aura is another one, a minor transmutation aura.

The circle emits an aura of abjuration. Tommy recognizes the circle's design as an exquisitely constructed calling diagram, used in conjunction with a magic circle spell.

The fire pots each emit two moderate auras. One is conjuration, the other is enchantment.

The book on the pedestal appears to be a book of scrolls. Several copies of several spells are present, of the Conjuration, Abjuration, and Enchantment schools.[/sblock]

A quick search of the upstairs lab reveals:

The red book on the floor is a spellbook. On the cover it reads, in boldfaced Common,

[smallcaps]Saferoom Spellbook
Do NOT Remove[/smallcaps]

The shelf contains various spell components.

The workbench has some promsing tools. Along with various small metal and woodworking implements, notably a crowbar, there is also a dagger in a metal sheath. The sheath is warm to the touch, and when the dagger is removed, you can see that it's red hot.

When Keldar beats on the door, you hear a few dull thuds issue from the other side. If you press your ear up against the metal surface of the door, you can hear what sounds like a very muffled voice.

Tarag picks up the dagger and examines it closely. If he thinks it's hot enough, he'll try applying it to one of the fused hinges of the safe room door.

Rapture tries the crowbar on the door. She pushes with all her might, but she makes no progress.

Tarag takes the red hot blade in hand and tries pressing it against the edge of the door. While the knife doesn't cut through the metal, it certainly transfers heat. And even after Tarag removes the blade, the metal on the door maintains a red glow for a few long moments.
