PrC prereqs

Hey all,

If a PrC class requirement states that you must be able to cast arcane or divine spells, would an ability like the Weightless Foot's Dry Feet ( Dry Feet (Sp) - A weightless foot of 5th level or higher can cast water walk as a sorcerer of a level equal to the weightless foot's class level ) meet the requirement for that PrC?

Thanks,
Outergod

No, I'm pretty sure you can't do that. IIRC someone asked the Sage if a gnome PC could meet arcane spellcasting PrC requirements with the cantrips they can cast. I believe the answer was no.

Two different things. Gnomes actually get the ability to cast spells. Having spell-like abilities (as a variety of races and many prestige classes do, not to mention all psionic characters) is not the same thing as being able to cast spells.
