[h=3]Sun Spots – A Call of Cthulhu RPG Scenario by Dave Sokolowski[/h]
(Campaign Ends : Sunday 9th October 2016; 15:03 UTC)

Sun Spots is a Call of Cthulhu 7th edition scenario set in 1920’s New England for 3-6 players which should take between 8-10 to play. The story drops the group of investigators into the middle of a New England snowstorm in 1925 where a local banker seeks help retrieving his daughter, Susan, from a remote resort town… and then things start to get weird.

“Nearly 28,000 words have been written for this scenario, allowing for a long and satisfying exploration of the resort town of Red Valley, which is hiding rival archaeologists, ancient magics of the Hyperboreans, and a sun that may never set” says Dave Sokolowski.

The scenario was originally written under the guidance of long-time Call of Cthulhu editor and writer, Keith “Doc” Herber, before his untimely death in 2009.

[h=3]Morningstar: Starship Map Poster & Miniature by Ryan Wolfe[/h]
(Campaign Ends : Tuesday 11th October 2016; 03:30 UTC)

Anyone who likes sci-fi gaming should have a look at this. Ryan Wolfe has created a wonderful double sided 24” x 36” full colour deckplan poster which would look great in any sci-fi RPG. ”The CSS Morningstar is a Fenris-class heavy corvette designed for extended patrol and escort duties – often operating alone as a police ship or border patrol vessel. At approximately 100 meters long, she supports a crew of 30, is heavily armed, and has a pair of hanger bays for shuttles, fighters, or boarding craft.”

The maps have a 1 inch grid built into the floor and are scaled at roughly 1 inch = 5 feet. The campaign is offering digital as well as printed floorplans, and also a custom miniature of the Morningstar.

Sky ov Crimson Flame is a 0-level adventure/funnel designed for the Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG, but could be used with our favorite Old School RPG of choice. The module will be approx. 32 pages and will include 5 handouts, 2 maps, 2 random tables and a new spell.

[h=3]Kaigaku, A Samurai RPG by Jacob DC Ross[/h]
(Campaign Ends : Sunday 2nd October 2016; 17:20 UTC)

Kaigaku is an OSR retroclone featuring an original setting inspired by the golden ages of various historical empires, including Japan, China, Korea and the Mongols.

Kaigaku delivers samurai drama, from the stateliest daimyo’s court to the slums of Kajima, the wilds of the Imperial forests or the fields of battle. You can use the rules in this game to create YOUR saga and tell the tale of YOUR heroes.

The rules are fast and easy to learn, and they support both one-shot games and long-term campaigns. There is a rich setting upon which you can base your tales, but it’s presented in broad strokes to keep from constraining your visition.{/hq]

[h=3]Inheritance by Luke Crane[/h]
(Campaign Ends : Monday 3rd October 2016; 15:02 UTC)

Inheritance is a new ten-player game by Luke Crane, designer of games such as The Burning Wheel and also these days Head of Games at Kickstarter itself. Nine of the players take on roles of a family member, or close associates, whilst the tenth player takes on the role of the facilitator.

Jutland, in the Closing Days of an Age…

Ten years ago, Daxo murdered his beloved older brother, Baldr. Exiled by his father for his crime, he’s spent a long decade wandering. But now he’s heard that his dear grandfather has died, and he’s returned home to claim his inheritance.

Inheritance tells the tale of two families coming to terms with forgiveness, debt, religion, law and death. In three acts, the game presents a powerful drama that is always unique to the players and their decisions.

Each player receives a booklet and eight cards to represent their character, with the facilitator also getting their own rulebook (but no cards). During the game the players perform their parts as the facilitator guides them through the scenes, with each players goals detailed in their books. The game is played in two rooms and usually takes about two to three hours to play. I’ve played games very similar to this before (looking back one might have been a playtest for this) and the games are very story driven by the players to the point they almost seem GM-less.

[h=3]Demon Gate: Apocalyptic Fantasy Tabletop Roleplaying Game by Brandon Williams[/h]
(Campaign Ends : Saturday 1st October 2016; 22:16 UTC)

Demon Gate is a dark fantasy apocalyptic RPG featuring over 20 character classes and a dozen races and sub-races to choose from including org (goblinoids), bogkroll (ogre), tark (rat-kin), terran (human), eldrynn (elves), grimalkin (cat-kin) and Nephilim (half angels). Apart from the rules the core book also includes, among other things, a bestiary, an atlas containing information on the most popular areas of the northwestern reaches, spells, magical items, and a Game Masters chapter.

The Demon Gate rulebook also describes vast ruins left abandoned by a highly advanced, ancient civilization that came to this world for the “magic” within its metals. The inhabitants of the world Koth call these ancients beings the “Void Gods”, saying they came from the stars, bringing powerful weapons and quick death to those who stood in their way. This world was ruled by demons that were banished here by the gods of other worlds, the forgotten worlds. Once these demons discovered the ancient void gates they were left behind by the alien race, who then unlocked their powers and began using the technology to travel to other worlds. They enslaved all manner of mortal life and brought it back to their world to use them as their playthings, their sacrifices, and their slaves. After the great revolt, that which is known as the Thrall Wars, the Nephilim and angels helped in defeating these demon-gods. They were locked into Tartarus, the prison of Hell, and forgotten… for eons. It has been so long since that time that what was once knowledge has passed into legend and mythology.

I'm with Shawn, I love it, my wallet hates you
How about a shout out to the Bag of Superior Sorting ( thought most of the cool bags just got swept up)
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/782272640/bag-of-superior-sorting-boss/description

I hadn't seen this one. It'll be too late for the next column (as it'll only have a couple of days left to run by then). But I will post about it on the RPG Kickstarter News Facebook Group as it's not appeared on there yet. Thanks for the tip :)
