Bresh stumbles out of Tessimon's room "I could get used to this.

When he meets John, he responds, "I do not plan on being anywhere near her bad side, although from what I saw, she has none."

Bresh will follow John and get settled in. He'll spend the next week learning what he can about the place and people of the Fire Temple area, and trying to earn their trust. Gather Information +11, Knowledge (local, history) +8, Knowledge (arcana, dungeoneering, geography, history, the planes) +4, Bardic Knowledge +9, Diplomacy +14, Bluff +11, Sense Motive +7. If it helps he'll also try to entertain as he can with his pan pipes. Perform (wind instrument) +13. I think that covers it. :)

I'll resolve Bresh's actions along with the others shortly[/sblock]

Kenneth nods and replies in Auran, forming the whistling sounds carefully "You are wise to judge a man by his deeds rather than his words. What will be my first assignment?"
Ignoring Kenneth the High Priest addresses the guard that escorted Kenneth into the temple "Get him out of my sight and get him sorted." he says before turning away from Kenneth with a final glare and climb back to the top of the altar.

Analya scans the crowd briefly as she steps into the room. Her eyes fall last upon the leader of the group. She walks forward and stops at a respectable distance, a slightly curled smile upon her lips. "I am Analya," she tells the tall, imposing man her name. "I hope I will enjoying working for you."

Erupting from his throne in a burst of motion the fearsome D'Gran stands leering down upon Analya, his hot fetid breath swirling around the startled female. "Oh you hope that you'll enjoy yourself do you. Well you better well hope that you don't disappoint me little maggot, or you'll end up a plaything for the others." he yells, spttile flying from his mouth, showering Analya in it's globules of spit.

While the high priestess' reaction was somewhat disappointing, it seemed that he had at least managed to pierce the surface of her personality and make a good impression on her. He smiles slightly and gives her a small nod. "We all need others; no mortal can live in this world completely alone. I believe that the temple of water is the place for me; water sustains life, both plant and animal, its power is undeniable. As for what I can offer you, my lady. I am afraid I am not one for violence and conflict, why kill an enemy when you could instead turn them to your side? If there is any issue which you wish to solve without violence, I will do my utmost to fulfill your desire.”
The High Priest seems to weight Gilgalis words carefully before nodding slightly in response to his words. Looking beyond Gilgalis she makes a motion to the guard who escorted Gilgalis. "Find a place for Gilgalis and get him settled in" shes says to the guard before focusing her attention once more upon Gilgalis "Only time will tell, how you can best serve the water temple." she says before dismissing him with a gesture.

Jerome surveys the room quickly, noting the contents. As the rat-man comes into view, he supresses any emotion or movement.

"Master Eeridik, I am here to pledge my services to you, what are your orders?"

The wiry ratman surveys Jerome with cunning burning brightly in his eyes. "You serve Eeridik well, and Eeridik reward." he says in the same nasal tone as before. Reaching into a pouch at his side Eeridk pulls out a number of small vials, selecting one he offers one to Jerome "Here you take this, as a sign of the rewards you'll receive by working for Eeridik. It make you strong in battle."

"Go now you begin work tomorrow"

Actions for the coming week please. Also Jerome was given a potion of Bulls Strength[/sblock]

Gilgallis bows again to the High Priestess and follows the guard from the room.

[sblock=OOC]For the next week Gilgalis will work towards learning as much as he can about the Temples and the people who serve them, without doing anything suspicious. He'll do this primarily by gaining the trust and perhaps adoration of his new asociates. He's not trying to get people to view him as a leader, but rather someone whom they can rely on and whom it is just pleasurable to be around. He will also try to disarm and resolve any conflicts he encounters between temple members, so as to gain a reputation as a skilled mediator.(Gah! That's the word I was looking for in my last post! Mediator!) He will of course avoid revealing his Yuan-Ti nature if at all possible. Saying his gills are a result of aquatic elven heritage if asked. Which for all he knows could be true.

I don't know which of my skills won't help with this so...

Analya pauses, unsure of how to handle this man. Normally if she said something wrong, she would use her womanly wiles and her looks to overcome her mistake, but she had a feeling that this time, none of that will work.

Does she act meek and beg for mercy or does she stand strong? Hoping that he is the sort who would prefer strength, she stands strong despite the quavering in her heart and says, "I believe I will not disappoint you, sir. Please tell me what I can do to prove myself."

The week will consist of:

1) Becoming familiar with the Bridge Complex (making maps)
2) Making a list of all individuals in the complex
3) Determine the chain of command and pecking order
4) Attempt to figure out the political climate (i.e. who is weak, who is strong, who is in disfavor, who is favored, etc)
5) Determine the function of the bridge complex

Jerome is not the king of interpersonal communication, so his methods of information gathering will be more on the sneaking/spying rather than through direct communication. He is cruel and merciless to those weaker than he, but will cow-tow to those who are more powerful.

In addition to any tasks he is assigned, Kenneth will attempt to determine what he can about the Air Temple and whatever else he can find out. He'll determine the physical layout, and look for exit points, entry points, military strength, resources, and vulnerabilities. He'll also try to get familiarized with the personnel, especially any potential rivals to the high priest. He'll look for low ranking workers he might chat up, such as a cook.

He will use empathy on occasion to help understand the social situation, being careful to stay more than 15' from others when turning on the power so that he is not detected by the mental chime.

He will also look for small rodents or pets that he can use forced sense link on to hear what is said when he is not in a room. If need be he will use the Burrowing Power feat so that the flash of his eyes is not detected when he does this.

If he has not been assigned any task by the end of the week he will inquire about how he could make himself useful.

I have begun work on another moster post. Which will include everything you've been able to discover over a one week period. This will also include maps of each of your area as well as a discription of the people and places unique to each.

So for your entertainment I have arranged a little competion between Analya and a local soldier to keep you amused until I'm finished in a couple of days. And don't worry you'll get your chance, just you wait and see. :] [/sblock]

D'Gran's face twists into and evil grin as he contemplates Analya's words. Looking a round Analya notes that everyones attention is focussed on D'Gran as he makes his way back to his throne, some have looks of amusement, while others bear looks of concern or outright fear.

"Well Gentlemen!" D'Gran says to a chorus of raucous laughter "Our newest recruit is eager to prove herself to us..." D'Gran is forced to wait while the tumult of ribald suggestions and offers finally runs out from the soldiers at the tables. "As such I suggest a harmless competition between Analya and .... lets say Markus." The surprised looking burly soldier named Markus stands to the cheering of his companions and performs a mock bow in the direction of Analya "It'll be my pleasure boss to teach this wench her place." he says with a broad smile that fails to reach his cold eyes.

Markus then proceeds to the center of the room where space is hastily made for the coming competition, removing his weapons and shirt Analya gets a good look at his heavily muscled body, which is criss-crossed with old wounds. Markus then begins to stretch and warmup to the accompaniment of laughter and catcalls. Around the room bets are hastily made at 3 to 1 odds in favour of Markus.

The room falls into a hushed silence as D'Gran once again stands to address the assembled throng. "Alright Analya, step right up there is no reason to be shy. Since you're new to this game let me explain the rules. No weapons allowed! other than that there are no rules."

Initiative
Analya - 17
Markus - 12

Analya's lips curl into a smile after the boss is finished. "While you may appreciate some muscle, I believe I have other useful skills at my disposal you may find handy, such as ... "

She then casts points at Markus as her body shines in color. The colorful light then strikes her opponent as she goes invisible and takes several steps to the side.
