Savage Worlds Rifts [OOC]

If you are planning on any long distance travel you need to account for not always being on a Lay Line... just a thought to consider. NOW if you are going to the Magic Zone there are lots of Lay Lines but you have to get there first ;)

Also Squidge looks great!!

Very true... and of coursing... flying creatures and craft tend to attract far more attention then ground vehicles and/or traveling under the tree line

Dawn's a good face.

Made a tweak to Squidge. Traded in the nice suit of armor for the computer skill result from Underworld and Black Ops. Oddly, Mind Melters get Huntsman armor by default, which has a Str min of 1d6. So I took Plastic Man armor instead, which is cheaper and provides less protection but has no Str minimum.

So Squidge's skillset is now kind of hacking/security specialist, with a little social stuff on the side, and whole LOT of psychic blammo. She needs to armor up for any kind of serious combat, but once she does she gets 19 MDC, which ain't bad.

Against normal folks, she uses Deadly Illusion and other brain messery. Against robots she uses Telemechanics. Against mindless things that are magic, she buffs one of YOU and goes and hides. :)

Backstory is coming along, but the short story is that she was a citizen of the Coalition State of Lone Star, and headed north after she got herself in all KINDS of trouble. Should be interesting having a bit of the old CS mindset trying to acclimate to a more diverse set of co-workers and peers.

My plan is, I think, to give Squidge a try for this adventure. Deezy will disappear for a bit to start developing her plans for a business using the money from this last job. Depending on how Squidge works out, that might become her new job, in which case she becomes an NPC. Or, I dunno...Squidge and Deezy both have fairly specific skillsets, so maybe I can alternate between whichever seems best suited to the mission at hand. Hee hee.

But short term, this is what I'd like to try.

Dawn is not a fan of going near a ley line (she has Ley Line Hypersensitivity) so any kind of vehicle that's dependent on a ley line won't be much of a home for her.

If Squidge is from Lone Star, is it possible that she ran into Dawn during her time in the CS forces? I imagine for Dawn it was a least a couple years ago since you can't really train to be a cyber-knight overnight.

Oh, Dawn's from there too!

It's possible.

Squidge was in Psi-Bat. Different name, of course. She's gone a bit incognito, as the CS doesn't take KINDLY to Psi-bat folks going off the reservation.

Lol, I'm actually from Texas, and every time I make a character in a pseudo American setting, I'm always from Texas, so James is from Lone Star as well. At least, originally.

GreenKarl, I need to know how much leeway you're going to give the Fortune and Glory table's "A Way to Get Around" roll I got. It says "Any one vehicle of your choice". It doesn't give a limit. If it really is just any one vehicle, then in the interest of Dawn's sensitivity to Lay Lines I'd like either the Mountaineer ATV or the Zone Ranger. Zone Ranger would be best, but I can understand if that's a little too expensive to just give away for a lucky roll. I want James to really contribute to this team, and am willing to trade out his Piloting skill for Driving. Having him bring a vehicle to the table really helps, I think. I just need to know how far I can go.

Its part of the Fortune and Glory roll that you can pick up some REALLY expensive stuff so I don't mind you grabbing a Zone Ranger at all :D

If you want to change your skills around a bit thats totally cool. We have not started yet so it is totally fine

Wonderful! Then I'll take the Zone Ranger, for the team, and I'll switch Piloting for Driving. Can we assume it's got 30 pp stored in it's tank right now? I'll be the team driver. It'll make getting around just that much easier. Oh, and it can go over water at 1/4 speed, so that's awesome.

It's an ATV, so it isn't something you'd want to live in, but it's tough and roomy, so it'll be good for the whole team.
