It looks like we got full on arms crossed side eye.

In reality, Pocket was just falling asleep there. She was actually quite a sweetheart.

Oh, and Harry and Harley, when they were kittens...

He clung to me at the animal shelter and nuzzled my face with his head. Kinda hard to say no to that.

This is Harley*. She is very surprised. Not at anything in particular. It is just her natural state.

And this is her brother Harry**. He isn't coming out right now, but wanted to see what's going on.

* Harley is not named for a motorcycle. Her full name is Harlequin. No, not for Batman. She's named after a character in Harlan Ellison's short story, "Repent, Harlequin!" Said the Ticktockman.

** Harry's full name is actually Harrison, named for Kurt Vonnegut's story Harrison Bergeron.

Oh, I figured you might have called your cat Harlequin because the Harlequins in WH40K dance around their enemies, while slashing them to ribbons.

I’ll give you a couple of oldies, since I no longer have a pet. The first one was Bastet. We got her (and her sister) with my wife when we first moved in together. She died last year at 15 years old.

The second was Grumpy (translation). He was a feral that one day walked in the door and stayed. He was my childhood friend.

Mabel passed away unexpectedly on Dec 5, 2020. She was barely eight years old when she left us sometime during the night in her sleep. More than a pet, she was a dear friend and constant companion. Personally, she was one of the best parts of my entire life. Our bond was special and unique. Her sudden loss came without warning or clue, and happened way, way too soon. It is hard for me to believe that my life will ever be the same again without her, though I know my life was made better for the short time we were together. She will always be treasured, remembered, and terribly missed.
