Apparently undaunted by the delay, the party waits for further action from the citadel. Eventually, a long hodge-podge of spliced together ropes is dropped over the edge, originating over the top of the outermost wall of the keep, falling down to its bottom, and then dropping the far greater length of the rock spire upon which the keep sits. It's apparent that they had some trouble finding enough rope to splice together, as the bottom 40' appears to be made of hurriedly tied together bedsheets.

You can only hope the splicing together resulted in a rope that will hold your weight. Arguably, it's a good sign that being dropped over the side didn't tear the splicing apart.

Charlarn of Phyrah: male human cleric 6/ranger 2

Charlarn tugs on the end of the rope. "The lighter people should go up first. I'll stay here to make sure everyone gets to safety."

Iggy is happy to go first. But he has no intention of actually climbing the whole way. That would be difficult. "I'll go first." he says. He then casts his levitation spell. Holding onto the rope, he then ascends 20 feet/round for up to 9 minutes (for a total of up to 1080 feet). If his magic suddenly gives out, hopefully he'll still be able to hold on and climb the rest of the way.

Charlarn of Phyrah: male human cleric 7/ranger 2

In spite of the situation, Charlarn smiles at the creativity of his wizard friend. He draws his crossbow and nocks a bolt, in case someone spots the group.

OOC: Charlarn has been approved for 9th level.

Iggy has been levitating up the rope adjacent to the rock spire for a full minute (and is about 2/3rds of the way to the bottom of the castle walls) when the first Dispel Magic hits him.

Targeted Dispell Magic v. Iggy (1d20+10=12)

The levitation spell holds. Does Iggy have any other spells up? If so, they are potentially effected as well. (Perhaps mage armor?)

Iggy can hear a familiar song in the distance.

Once the last member of the group gets halfway up the rope, Charlarn prays softly, "Lady Phyrah, let me fly like the wind." (casts fly on himself). He holds onto the rope as he flies upwards for the likelihood that the spell will get dispelled.

Once confident those in front of him have plenty of time, Planus also casts fly. He keeps the rope in easy reach, but gambles that the fly spell will fade slowly like normal and does not actually keep a hand on the rope as he flies up.
