Rylic eyes the strange doors suspiciously then says, "My friends, were we not warned about doors with teeth?"

Adaliz moves to the eastern door on the south wall. Pale light shines from the crescent-sized opening - perhaps open enough for someone to squeeze through. The circular door has been blocked open with a chunk of stone. The light seems to be emanating from a point on the floor of the room ahead. With her elven vision, Adaliz can make out some cots - perhaps a barracks of some kind?

Tancred watches the floor, then the ceiling as he approaches the closed circle on the south wall just to the west of Adaliz. He detects no sound from the other side of the door. Tancred notices a small diamond-shaped slot in the door frame. He glances at the doorframe Adaliz is standing in front of. Sure enough, a similar slot adorns that doorframe too. Definitely a keyhole of some kind. There is something wrong about the door, but after a thorough search Tancred is unsure of the nature of his unease.

Gilthanus inspects the doors - the glyphs do not seem arcane in origin... perhaps another language? Does anyone speak gnome?

Gilthanus moves to the masks and discerns that they might be worth some money if they could be pried off the walls. He steps in front of the mask to the left of the tunnel on the west, and the mask speaks, moving its mouth in sync with the voice emanating from it: "Welcome to Jzadirune - behold the wonder! But beware, ye who seek to plunder. Traps abound and guardians peer - Beyond every portal, behind every gear."

Adaliz thanks Rylic for remembering the prophecy. It feels to her like it has been months since she heard it. Adaliz turns to the glyphs and then translates them.

Gilthanus will move to stand in front of each mask in turn to hear what they say.

Gilthanus speaks: Common, Elven, Draconic, Sylvan, and Goblin.

Gilthanus moves from mask to mask, but none of the other masks speak. The chirping, giggling, and rustling sounds pour from the walls unabated.

Adaliz believes that the glyphs on the doors are an older form of letters from the gnomish alphabet. The glyph on the (south) western door is a "J" and the glyph on the (south) eastern door is an "A". What purpose these letters have is unknown.

Rylic AC 17, HP 10, AP 6

Rylic frowns as the mask becomes animated and begins to speak. He then moves to the half-open door to the east and steps through it.

His weapons are still drawn by the way

Rylic squeezes through the crescent-shaped opening. A dozen small cots and chests line the walls of this 10-foot high dust-shrouded room. Cobwebs blanket cots and chests alike, and tiny spiders scurry about.

A 1-foot-long iron rod lies in the middle of the floor, its golden tip glows with dim light, casting shadows on the walls. Two rough-hewn tunnels (differing from the smooth-worked tunnels you have encountered so far in Jzadirune) breach the eastern and southern walls. The tunnels are tubular, and approximately five feet in diameter. Stoney rubble covers the floor near each tunnel.

As Rylic steps into the room, he does not notice the two shadowy figures until they strike at him from inside the doorway - both the left and right. The first stabs Rylic for 6 damage, the second's blade skitters off his armor.

Keep in mind Rylic is currently flanked. Please roll initiative and take your actions. Rylic was surprised, we will now go to regular initiative order. Also, it's time to reestablish our character sheet thread so I can have AC and other pertinent stats for secret rolls and such, so I'll do that tomorrow sometime.
